i recently bought this game when i traded in a few of my ps3 games played it and well.....fell in love wiyh it
![]() also i wont spoil the game as this is in its intro and shown in various trailers the backstory is amazing and well detyailed the graphics can easily match the ones shown in the fff13 versus trailers, the gameplay uses the ps3 at its limits and generally one of the best hack and slash's/beat em ups ive ever played you play as nariko a woman who is seen as a curse since the day she is born by her clan even though she still protects it, one day she is given the sacred heavenly sowrd that is protected by her clan which when used drains the essence from its wielder into a painfull death you can also play as in some stages kai the peppy happy charcter who has a tragic past who uses a cross bow lovinly called twing twang. though the game is short its worth playin and i suggest you play it lol ^^ -------------------- I remember... That night, we talked for the first time. I didn't know it then, but after that night, everything changed. For everyone... For me... ~Tidus |

Quote (TlockhartV1 @ 27th January 2009 01:46) you can also play as in some stages kai the peppy happy charcter who has a tragic past who uses a cross bow lovinly called twing twang. My friend had this game a while back now. We laughed so much at how bad we were at the six-axis arrow control. I couldn't hit a thing, and just when it looked like I was about to hit a soldier it usually struck a branch I couldn't see at first. When you target the air, the arrow somehow gains momentum and flies into orbit. It looks really silly, but really funny. Truth is... I didn't like the game much I'm afraid. Maybe if there were more attack moves it would've been better. For me, Lord of the Rings: Return of the King is still the obsolute ruler of all these kind of games. Two player co-op Hobbit defense of Minas Tirith? Count me in. -------------------- Scepticism, that dry rot of the intellect, had not left one entire idea in his mind. Me on the Starcraft. |

Is the camera in Heavenly Sword as bad as LotR? I loved Return of the King, but the camera is just awful in all of those games. -------------------- Climhazzard is the timeless evil robot who runs some of the cool stuff at CoN (mostly logging chat, since there are no quizzes at the moment), all the while watching and waiting for his moment to take over the world. -Tiddles |

I think I remember the camera angles in Heavenly Sword being really good, but I might be wrong.

I just beat this game over a weekend while borrowing it from a friend, and it turned out to be a lot of fun. I really liked Andy Serkis even though the cut scenes were a little weird, and the gameplay was action packed and enjoyable. It's a button masher's wet dream. I also liked controlling projecticles, but I used the analog stick because six axis was too difficult. Downside is that it's pretty short and replay could get boring after awhile, even after unlocking hell mode. I would definitely recommend it as a good weekend rental, or maybe even a purchase now that the price has come down.

Is this six-axis as in left right up down powerup powerdown?

Six-axis is a feature on the PS3's controller. The pad registers which direction it's being turned. So you could, say, fly an arrow by using the controller like a steering wheel in a car. With Heavenly Sword you fly an arrow much as you would drive an eighteen-wheeler lorry.

...I assume by that you mean, very inaccurately and awkwardly.
Though, that's curious. Like, a controller-internal accelerometer, such as what I've heard is inside the iPhone? And why would you "drive" or "fly" an arrow? Wouldn't it just follow classical projectile physics, or is a direction-changing arrow a feature of the gameplay? -------------------- Check the "What games are you playing at the moment?" thread for updates on what I've been playing. I really mean it, you drive an arrow. It could go left, then right, then left again before hitting a previously unseen branch. I think it's meant to make your accuracy better when firing it over long distances. Actually, you do drive cannon balls at an attacking army in one part of the game, and without steering it would be much harder to hit. I suppose you could compare the entire pad to a joystick.
And, yes, by eighteen-wheeler I most certainly mean inaccurately and awkwardly. -------------------- Scepticism, that dry rot of the intellect, had not left one entire idea in his mind. Me on the Starcraft. |
