This is a fairly easy question. Comparing all the elements in Tactics, Advance and A2 together, what do you like the most out of the them. For the battle system, I like Tactics since unlike Advance and A2, there are no laws so I can use whatever I want. Also, Advance and A2 features a no charge time for spells. Although I like this, it takes out the fun in planing your attacks well. Also the music in Tactics is WAY BETTER. A2's music is nothing more than just remix of Advance. But I do like some of theirs. However, you have to give up for Advance and A2 for having other races. Too bad they lack genders for the race

I'm quite glad I only own FF Tactics and not FF Tactics Advance or A2.

Like who wants to waste 10 or 15 minutes tossing crappy snowballs as that do 1 HP damage around to each character with HPs above 15?

You do know there's a lot more to the game than that prologue battle, right? I mean, I certainly didn't play TA all the way through, but it was a better game than you make it sound!

As for TA2, I've heard some really great things about it. Nothing would live up to the original to me, as I'm sure I've posted here before, but it seems like a remarkably playable game.

Of course, the first Tactics will always be my favorite and one of the best games I've ever played in general, so I'm going to go with that and say it was the best of the three.

Tactics Advance was, well, annoying. There were some enjoyable moments and the plot, while certainly not nearly as impressive as that in the original, was light-hearted and easy to get into.

FFT:A2, on the other hand, was a great game. The plot was intricate and interesting, the battle system was much more refined and less of a chore than it's gameboy advance predecessor and finally, the quests were a lot of fun to do.

Still, it doesn't touch the original!

Yeah, I know that. I've managed to get my buttocks as far as the world map. I had no clue what to do. I saw these "landmarks" or whatever they were that I had to place but resisted and just said "Screw this crap I'm bored/confused already."

Added, I also didn't really feel the laws system was a nice thing;it's like a thief comes to seriously mug you & bruise you up real good, and then instead of stopping the thief, a supervisor comes over and tells everyone not to use a Potion or Phoenix Down, or you'll go to jail regardless if you mugged someone or not.

Now talking common sense, that's just idiotic in my opinion. But I guess some people are into it.

I'd say that the differences between the original Tactics and the Advance series make it difficult to properly compare, in my mind. That said, it's not impossible.

Tactics is gold. It will always have a place in my library, even if I have to put up with the slowdowns during attack animations and the sound effects that are both poorly synced and incorrect that appear in the War of the Lions version.

Tactics Advance, I appear to have lost. Which is a shame, because it unlocks what could be a handy ability in TA2 (Libra, in case you're wondering, which simply makes traps visible. Limited in usefulness unless you're fighting Rangers). Out of the three, I think this one definitely ranks the lowest.

Tactics Advance 2 is pretty good, all things considered. Both of the Advance games annoy me in that some of the classes I consider basic aren't available to every race, as I feel they should be. It's all well and good to have several races, and I really think that a Fighter should be called a Fighter, even if different races gain access to one or two unique abilities in that class. At least you know ahead of time that you're going to wind up with another clone class, that way. Where the game excels, though, is the new law and privilege system. It can add an interesting extra little challenge, while not being the complete gimpfest of laws in the original Advance, while only being really debilitating in a select few of the Clan Title challenges, and that one Bonga Bugle mission (Defeat the enemy while upholding the law - against having anything stolen from you! Nyahahaha!)

In short, I'm abstaining from voting. >_>

I considered asking if this is a serious question due to the obvious notion that Final Fantasy Tactics is far beyond the other two, but reconsidered on the basis that I'm not a [huge] jackass.

The original Tactics is definitely the best of the three games, having an involved plot with many turns and well-characterized antagonists you cannot help but appreciate.

(This post isn't truly meant to be a knock at the others, they are good games in their own rights, just not in the same vein as the original)

That is an excellent point with the plot. Although it must not be hard given the fact the story of A2 was "I am lost in a magical book. must find way to get home."

All three of the games are great, but I lean to he first as the best. The main reason is the storyline. The Advance tactics only have you go on an adventure. Also I feel like FFTA2 had a few setbacks compared to the first, mainly no Multiplayer.

Whenever we see FFTA3 I want a few thinks:

Recuit Monster/ Chocobos
Giant bosses that can move.
Be able to NAME units, one of the things I miss the most
A storyline on the lines of FFT, maybe of the fall of Ivelice
Fill in the new races with more jobs: All my Gria are mastered completly and my Seeq is to.
Wi-Fi & Wireless Multiplayer Co-op- Versus, You get the picture.

I have only played FFT and TA, but IMO FFT is superior in pretty much everything. The only thing TA had that FFT didn't have was the races, but they weren't that good anyway (I mean, why does every race have only one gender? OK for Viera, but humans?!)

Don't get me wrong, I like TA. It's a nice game, but it will never be able to see it in the same way as the original Tactics..

Also, TA's story was pretty meh.

FFT is better than FFTA in my opinion. The story just takes for a wild ride, something not many games do now a days. Not only that, but I like the graphics better too. They suit the theme of the game perfectly. You can also relate more the the characters than you can in FFTA series.

FFTA is also good though. I like it for what it is, and that is a game with a minor story but with awesome gameplay. I could spend hours playing FFTA or A2. In fact I think I just got to 80 hours on FFTA2 recently.
