This is false and nothing more than an attempt to get some attention. None of the above exist.

To my knowledge, the only "fourth disc" in any copy of FF7 was a disc with preview FMV's for FF8 in some Platinum edition copies. Maybe even an actual demo.
I have never seen anything about a fourth disc with the international version except the frequently dispelled rumours. I am told that the english-speaking and international versions do have a few extra bosses (according to Wikipedia, the weapons) and that the little arrows which point to where the exit is did not exist in the Japanese version. Knowing my luck they don't exist in the US version and everyone will wonder what the hell I am talking about. -------------------- "Only the dead have seen the end of their quotes being misattributed to Plato." -George Santayana "The world will little note, nor long remember what we say here..." -Abraham Lincoln, prior to the discovery of Irony. |

Another rumor quelched. All in a days work for the members of the CoN.
My favorite rumor (FFVII anyway) has to be trying to fight Bugenhagen...I mean, I'm not a big fan of him by any means, but if you've got enough 'roid rage to go after some 180 year old man, you need to stop playing |

Knowing my luck they don't exist in the US version and everyone will wonder what the hell I am talking about. Yeah, in the international one they added Ruby and Emerald Weapon and we do have the arrow things, though I can't confirm whether they're there or not in the Japanese version since I've never played it. But yeah, hit the select button and you get little "The exit's over here, moron" arrows and a big hand pointing at you to say "And in case you didn't notice Cloud's gargatuan head spike, you're right here." I also heard tell of, in the Corel Prison, when you're in the first area, there's a pit thing that you can climb down a ladder into, which I know is there, but there's nothing of use in it. What I heard, and I can't remember if this was in the final version or pre-production of the game, but there was a pack of dogs in there that were some sorta' crazy battle or something, but I can't remember if that was in the final Japanese game, or just some sorta' pre-production thing they scrapped. -------------------- Games on the Go Final Fantasy VII Final Fantasy: Four Warriors of Light Baldur's Gate Too much to play, so little time! Well, the french version does have a fourth disc.
Possible spoilers: highlight to view It features extras like equipping Vincent with a baguette, FMVs of the fall of the Meteor made to look like scenes of France like in the "Armageddon" movie, uncensored sequences at the Honey Bee Inn, and a rude language feature for the entire game ("Check it out, Nanaki, it's your fucking father turned to stone...and he's crying like a little whimp!). You can also fight a couple of new Weapons called Ultraviolet, Safran and Azure. To defeat them, you must use a special Materia named UN <-> Congress, although it doesn't work most times... And of course, you can revive Aeris. But nobody does it, because when she revives she forgets to put on the mojo on Meteor and it's Game Over... |

Generally, most RPGs are produced in japan, then relocalized in North America. ...And then, apparently, RE-exported to japan, THEN back to North America after Square reads up a few totally bogus and nonsensical rumors and decide to hammer them into the game. ![]() -------------------- "Judge not a man by his thoughts and words, but by the quality and quantity of liquor in his possession and the likelyhood of him sharing." |

For the record, I believe the only playable Final Fantasy VIII demo came with Brave Fencer Musashi. I rented it and stole the demo disc.

I knew I saw a picture of the case for International, and it said '4 Discs'. I could be wrong though.

Yes; the third version to come out, the international one, has a 4th non-gameplay disk with goodies and such. I believe the CD case was all white and had the FF7 logo on it, but it's been a while since I've seen one. -------------------- "Judge not a man by his thoughts and words, but by the quality and quantity of liquor in his possession and the likelyhood of him sharing." |

I thought it had a pic of the Mako Reactor or something, on a blue case, but usually FFs have the white background and the logo, so meh. Still, it's pretty interesting.
Also, I heard there was some sort of 'click and point' option that allowed you to get weird items from the environment. What is this? And were there any other things added into International that weren't in the NA version? -------------------- |

You should probably read the thread, in which we established that they're not quite the same after all.
You should also probably stop reviving old threads (two and a half years no less!) unless you have something of particular consequence to add. (Contradicting correct information doesn't count.) |
