i had a dream last night that i had all the master materia and i was running around with Fenrir...it was awesome...i woke up depressed and ive been mopey all day long... any sympathizers?

somewhat...I had a similar dream about owning a lightsaber. ...so badass...

yeah ive had a few lightsaber ones myself but just think of the possibilities of having materia... if your having a cold night just hold a fire blast in your hand for a while and then when you get warmed up...snuff it out... or if someone pisses you off... freeze them to the floor with a good old Blizzaga (ice3) power goes out... BOLT
traffic making you angry? COMET 2... ok thats a but too much but c'mon... you know you would love to be able to at least go hunting with a few AC style fire blasts its dead and cooked and you know what... NO MORE BUYING AMMO!!! im a hunter and i always hate running out of ammo... the only problem i would have is running out of things to kill lol

the more i think about it the more i get sad again... if you could use Ultima as some kind of Kamehameha wave... i would Gism hands down...

I've also imagined magic in general existing, but that would make life TOTALLY different. Sure, if magic, materia, espers, or whatnot suddenly popped into existence, you'd have a short spate (maybe a few years at most) of people doing crazy stuff, such as blowing up security checkpoints or teleporting past locked doors, but sooner or later society itself would adapt to these new circumstances. Using some of your examples, Milovitch1311, perhaps there would be anti-magic or magic-absorbing fields installed at traffic intersections.

Though, yes, it is quite interesting to think about what life would be like if magic existed. And not just for oneself.

Wow, that was a really realistic approach to the topic, yet you are right. If it did exist, the gov't would start using it for military purposes. Then a magical war would start (oh wait, wrong game).

I used to dream that Pokemon were real, and there was an ESPN show devoted to it. And I was being interviewed after a battle or something.

I think it would be awesome for FF magic to exist. It be cool to have a grimoire, spells, stuff like that. I always watch the History Channel or Nat'l Geographic when they talk about mythology, and it always make me wonder.

i apologize for the traffic comment...i just had a 600+ mile drive through kansas to colorado from missouri... i wasnt exactly in the best state of mind... especially considering i also got a 200 dollar ticket on top of it... anyways i did think about before i posted it that yes all could use it and the gov would inevitably get their hands on it for their purposes but just the thought of it... gives me a warm feeling... and i would definitely be a money saver for people who like to hunt... and i would open up a WHOLE new industry/ service of materia growing mastering and disribution... although once it got into brand name materia we the masters of materia knowledge and use would have to wage war on them cuz all materia is the same... you grow it maser it and it multiplies... nothing brand name about it... i got so off topic...

anyways... just playing around with it would be so much fun... i mean really who doesnt want Firaga (fire3) to just burst forth from their hand and incinerate a few old target clay pigeons? PULL!!! *BOOM* epic desintegration..

Well, H2O is the same for everyone, but people bottle and sell spring water. Heck, people bottle and sell purified tap water.

I think the point isn't whether the item's the same; the point is whether people have the item or not. You could probably easily buy low-level materia, but I suspect people might be trading nearly-mastered materia for thousands of dollars.

Well, exactly how much they'd sell for also depends on how easy it is to "train" materia. So...how exactly do you do that? I'm gonna make the assumption that real life doesn't have RPG-style battles.

i was just trying to get across that you dont make materia... it makes itself
i understand what youre saying about water but it can be treated etc.
materia the only thing that may make it differ from the exact same type is the amount of AP it has... how people would grow it in reality i wouldnt know... repetative use i guess just casting the spell over and over until it gets better. i dont know how else it could be... any ideas on it anyone? other than what ive discerned of course
