World of Balance Beginings.
Enter The Empire's Backstab.

So i know it might be overly asked but the idea of it, is still very entertaining.

If FFXI was made into a live action movie who would be the best actor/actresses for the parts? my choices would be:

For celes i thought Keira Knightly would be a good choice, kinda hard to find a actress that looks like celes

For Terra i think it'd be best if they looked for someone less known for her just because shes would have to be someone with a clean slate

I went with James Franco for Locke but i just can't find somebody perfect for that

id go with a younger Viggo Mortensen for Edgar. he could pull it off

Hard to find someone young and ripped enough to be sabin,

shadow could be anyone

After his performance in the dark knight heath ledger wouldve been perfect for kefka.

johnny depp would be a pretty good choice for setzer

hard to find a good gau character as well

Hugh Jackman could be a good cyan maybe

any cynical old man could be strago

relm could be any little girl as well

Hugo Weaving(aka Agent.Smith) would make a great gestahl

mark walhberg could be general leo, he kinda looks like him and he coul dpull it off

at any rate open for suggestion, comments, ideas?

Who else on this thread remembers that video games made into movies are awful...
anyone who doesn't just go to thatguywiththeglasses.com and see the nostalgia critic reviews of the Super Mario Bros, Street Fighter, and Mortal Kombat movies...

First off, try not to just scream an insult, second, not EVERYONE keeps track of actors, or maybe he forgot, and third, DO NOT double post TWO MINUTES after your other post, if you feel you needed that to be said, just edit your other post.

PS: next time, just try quoting the single line you were referencing.

But yes, Heath Ledger did die from an OD

The real casting choice would have to be Gogo

Micheal Jackson, then there'll be no reason to debate Gogo's gender

Well here's my thought on it. Since Dissidia is coming out, and we know Kefka is the villian for ff6, and more than likely it'll be terra as the heroine (is spelled correctly)

They have the japanese voices, why not wait for the english voices first and see if there's anyone else who could do it better?

Haha, think Labyrinth's David Bowie... That would be perfect for Kefka.

I'd think it'd benefit the film to have Kefka with a voice that can come across as a potentially gay man but still commanding respect. Not blatantly gay but someone you can tell just isn't quite right. You'd also have to find someone to do the best possible replication of his laugh. I was going to pick someone but I don't have the time to look into it deeper right now. Tim Roth would've been better a few years back but he might still be up to it. He has that criminally insane tone that he can inject into his voice that would portray Kefka well.

I also think realistically we're combining too many "headliner" stars into one film. I'm thinking two, maybe three at the most. Russell Crowe, no way. You have to remember that the majority of the Returners are younger characters. His voice sounds old.

Leo comes across as someone whose voice doesn't translate well to an animated film. From what I can conjure in my head his voice seems particularly plain and lacking the emotion required for voice-over.

Johnny Depp would be wasted on a small plotline character like Setzer. I bet he could handle Kefka with ease. They could hook up his laugh into an auto-tune program like T-Pain uses for his songs and let him try a few and see what happens. Probbaly not. Something else with his voice and some effects to get that trademark cackle.

I think Liam Neeson would be good as Cyan.

Ewan McGregor as Sabin? Terrible. His voice has no power, no strength.

Not trying to cut down anyone's choices, just floating my opinions. As you can see I haven't picked my own cast. It's much harder than it seems so I give credit to all of you who took the time to pick each character.

Looks like Terra but with blonde hair. Celes maybe? I guess Terra is the main Protagonist, so...
I'd prefer Celes though.

i guess what you are saying is ambiguity. i agree. Kefka would need to be questionable in every facet in order to be really good like he was in the game.

id hate to say it, but you might have to leave the laugh out. it might only work in the game. yeah, they should do it once or twice, as an homage, but they shouldnt overdo it.

Yes, ambiguity, thank you. Much easier to say than trying to be as PC as possible and wasting a couple of sentences.

ah yes, PC makes everything more difficult.

i was thinking, (and Squenix, take notes) if they really were to make it into a movie, they should instead do a miniseries, so they could stretch out the story and not miss anything.

I think a trilogy could work. WOB, WOR, Kefka's Tower. Obviously a little more than Kefka's Tower would be needed to fuel thew third installment, but still.
