so, I was climbing the Fanatics' Tower, and my party consists of Gogo, Umaro, Sabin, and Celes. I ran into some powerful enemies(i think some Lvl. 60 Magic) and it killed Gogo, Sabin, and Celes, leaving Umaro alone. I was like "omg i'm so dead." Since i'm not able to control Umaro or even make him use items, he just fought the enemies alone, and won!!! it was awesome. And now Umaro is offically one of my favorite characters. YAY UMARO!!!!!!!!
has this ever happened to any of yall? -------------------- -dysFUNctional- |

This has kinda happened to me. In WoR I was lvling up some low characters. INd my party I had Umaro, Shadow, Terra, and Gau. Without realizing where I was going or anything, I thought I would see how the Opera House was doing, and I ran into one of the dragons ttly unprepaired. Shadow and Gau died, and I was trying to constantly have Terra heal, but she died soon also. Lucky for me, Umaro dodged a bunch of shot, and after like 5 minutes of just echanging attacks, Umaro finally prevailed. YAY!!!

Used creatively, Umaro can be quite practical. If he's got running shoes or haste, he'll be quicker and the battle can conclude fairly quickly.
Bringing him to the Magi Master boss fight is not that pointless. Just Life3 the whole party while Umaro cleans the MM's clock. The only time Umaro will be unable to hit a foe is if the enemy turns invisible. This can be remedied if the yeti equips the the Blizzard Orb though. |

I usually end up giving him the gauntlet since he doesn't have a shield and the rage ring since I always found the blizzard orb fairly useless

I always give him Rage Ring/Blizzard Orb. I've yet to find a character who is actually useless in this game. ^^ But then again, I don't think there was a character in it I didn't like. That's why this is my all time fav game.

One time I went into Cyan's mind at Doma Castle with him in my party and sure enough, he was the one I started off with. He was on a fairly low level but we pulled through.

I've never been a fan of Umaro. My best party was with Sabin, Edgar, Gogo, and Mog.

Similar things have happened to me lol. I was in the Dinosaur forest, leveling up my characters. I had already gotten a few characters' levels up, so I was concentrating on a second batch. When I do my leveling-up, I'm usually reading something else or talking on the phone, and so i just move the joystick in circles and press X button repeatedly.
Long story short, one such occassion I forgot to check my characters' health, and everyone ended up dead halfway through a battle against those big bad ol' broncheosaurs (oh jeez, spelling). I looked up just in time to see Gogo fall actually, leaving only <gulp> Umaro. Let me tell you, it was was two tense minutes. Umaro eventually won out though, which was great since I hadn't saved for a good hour. -------------------- Currently Playing : Final Fantasy V Most Recently Beat : Elder Scrolls: Skyrim Favorite Game : Final Fantasy X The newest CoNcast is up! (mind you hes only six or somewheres around that age) Anyways give him a gauntlet and runningshoes, Max him to 99 and guess what....you got yuorself a super Yeti. By the way, if you didnt know if you lvl up your characters and end up accidentally dieing and forgetting to save, your lvl health magic and exp will remain the same when u return, less ur playing ff6 on gba. anyways yea u could play from when ur with vicks and wedge at start of game, not die, lvl terra and everyone else up to 99, not save, die and guess what, u got super characters at beginning of game woot -------------------- Kefka's Message of the week: Get off your couch noobs and get my new game Dissidia 012 |

Have you actually tried that? Don't. Because it won't work. I never used Umaro. I was happy when I accidentally found him but for the rest of the game he sat in the airship with Mog, Relm and Strago. |
