Well hi, Im playing FFT and Im in the chapter 4 after the igros battle with dicedarg... well I had orlandu just mastered holy swordsman so I decided lvl him up and this happen: At bariaus hill I had an encounter with 3 dragons, 3 hidras, 3 behemots and 3 red chocobos, all of them where at lvl 79. but in my side there was a dragon as a guest.. and as a good for nothing because at the begginig of the battle an hydra kills it with its triple fire in one blow ( 715 damage) ... well I just see how they blow my entire party within 3 turns ( all my party was at lvl 58 about) .
The other is this strange thing... in a river that is near zarghidas (I dont remember the name) appeared 12 chocobos!! 4 blacks, 4 yellows and 4 red ( all of them at lvl 77) but the most strange thing is that there was another monster, a dragon but it has the picture of the man of the tutorial. thats odd, have this happened to some of you before? survived? |

I've heard this encounter called several things - "Monster Mania", etc. A good number of the locations have rare encounters. This one and the Monks at Grog Hill are my 'favorites'.
I've won this fight, but only by going in prepared - it's one of the few times I use Orlandu in my party, and I have him spam Lightning Stab and Holy Explosion since the bottom monsters tend to bundle up a bit. I didn't do anything flashy like Inviting, but this is one of those battles that I've found Dancers come in handy. Nameless Dance is a good way to hamstring. The big problem for me were the Hydras. -------------------- You don't scare me, you talking blobs of oozing slop! I am impervious to pain! |

In the river you said you saw a dragon with a human face? I never heard of such a thing. Did it look any different than a normal dragon?

Well a dancer sure works well in this kind of situation but the chance to inflict a good abnormal status such petrify or confusion is VERY rare... I dont know if there is an ability to raise the success rate of her dance?.. like concentrate raises rate of steal and break techniches..
Well about the river i think is finath river.. yes that was a green dragon lvl 77 with lot of evasion (like it has blade grasp) only one attack dash but in the picture instead of the face of a dragon there was the picture of the man who is in the tutorial. I dont know what will happen if I poach it because all the chocobos had tremendous speed.... you know the red ones nuke me with choco meteor.. the black ones with choco ball and the yellow ones healing them... not to mention the dragon that always move my party with his dash (250 damage). |

Quote (Lavitz @ 5th September 2008 00:04) but the most strange thing is that there was another monster, a dragon but it has the picture of the man of the tutorial. thats odd, have this happened to some of you before? survived? I've had that happened to me also. but there is a big difference in ours. Mine happened at Poeskas Lake(the place where you fight an undead oracle/mystic, summoner, two archers and two reveants when you first arrive) and also the enemy that had the man's picture was not a dragon but a dark behemont. I won the fight, but to this day I still wonder what would have happened if I had invited that monster to my roster. would he still have the picture of the old man or change to regular picture of a behemont -------------------- In order to find your oppenent's weakness, you must first learn their pattern. Once you know their pattern, you can build a counter strategy. |
