Alright, so recently i was thinking about tactics, and how much i love it, and i discovered that, at least for my self, the only way to make tactics EVEN FUNNER than it already is that you would have to make it more complicated.
So, my discussion topic for this thread is: Do you think making it more complicated would make it funner? AND How would you make Final Fantasy Tactics more complicated? |

This is a "wide open" topic if I've ever seen one.
![]() I guess certain aspects of the game could be complicated a bit further, but certainly not the storyline. I think the storyline is hands-down the most convoluted in the series, with FF12 being somewhat of a distant second. Even still when I play it, I get a bit confused by all the random names that seem to crop up and the 'who's double-crossing who' aspect. I guess one way to complicate it would be to have more equipment that lets you learn more FF-y stuff. Make it so you can learn to automatically 'Counter' while wearing Genji Gloves or 'Fly' with Feather Boots. I guess you could take that a step further and give characters the ability to have two Reaction/Support/Move abilities. I've often caught myself wishing that I could Counter and Auto-Potion after I was attacked. ![]() Another idea would be the incorporation of these little "Single Class Character" or "Solo" challenges that people seem to like so much. At the New Game screen, it asks you if you want to SCC or Solo Ramza, and then the game doesn't give you team members or let you change class or both - no cheating. You'd just have to tweak the storyline a bit, I suppose. I don't know if this would make the game 'more complicated' or just a horrible trainwreck, but is this kind of what you're driving at? -------------------- You don't scare me, you talking blobs of oozing slop! yes, basically just anyway the gameplay could be made harder. i wasn't referring to the storyline, as you said it is complicated enough as it is. but good input, thanks!

If you want to make the game more complicated, my suggestions are this:
No Special Characters, no Agrias, no Orlandu, none of them. Use only the characters given to you in the start of the game. Or, try using classes you usually ignore when you play, and try to limit your use of your favorite classes. If you're a fan of magic classes, try to use more melee classes. If melee is your favorite, try mastering all the magic classes. That's a biotch and a half to do. Or, try Ramza and monsters only. No humans what so ever, other than Ramza. -------------------- CloudxAeris=Undying Love. ^_^ |

theres a few things i would change to make fft a bit more complicated, or harder.
1. (PSP only) get rid of the onion knight. with the right equipment, and low faith, the guys are pretty much unbeatable. all it is, is an uber class that makes the game soo simple, you will think you have a full party of orlnd. 2. change the job system a bit. how can you master the knight class, when the squire class is only at lvl 2? wouldnt it make sense that the squire experience and training would be the foundation of becoming a knight? i think that a job level shouldnt go above the level of the prerequisite jobs ( you cant get to lvl 6 as a ninja until you are at LEAST lvl 6 archer, thief, and geomancer. ) 3. get rid of ( or tweak ) skills that require no MP or charge time. like sword saint skills, holy knight skills, or a dark knight skills. its kinda rediculous. no cost to use? you can use as many times as you like in battle? cheap maybe? -------------------- "Life: The deepest cut that wilt not heal. Fore it bleeds on and on as if an eternity. An endless river of blood in which death is thyne only escape. And as the tainted years pass, that escape muddles us with temptation." |

great ideas everyone!
![]() But the way i meant this was more from a game design stand point. Like, if tehy were to make Final Fantasy Tactics 2, what could be done to make it more complicated, increase the learning curve. And for the record I think Tactics Advanced and A2 are pretty totally not good. |
