So I was pushing my limits the other day, and trying my hardest not to break any laws (which is much easier when you have more job skills to choose from, i.e. Sagacity when Fire/Ice/Thunder is banned), when I got into a battle that the law was (> 100 Damage), which was fine, as my characters are still usually attacking between the 40-80 range. Although, I had my Berserker/Ranger in my party, and had an interesting thought: Mirror Item Hi-Potion does exactly 100 damage. So, at risk of potentially breaking the law, I checked: (> 100 Damage) is a true boolean operator, and therefore doesn't trip on 100 damage (as it would have to be >= [greater than or equal to] to be inclusive of 100).
It's not of vital importance, but I thought it was cool, and I'd share for all the people who also like to push things to their limits. ![]() -------------------- If internal struggles were as enjoyable and glamorous as the self conflicted wars within video game characters, we would all be statues, reveling in perpetual self war. -Me Play me on Rock Band 2, GH-WT, or any other Xbox GH! I took a break for awhile to try FF4DS, and it didn't hold a candle to this game. I simply don't want to stop. The game is in no way perfect, and it isn't what I hoped it would be, but it is SO DAMN FUN that I just can't stop. It's broken my record for hours spent on a single file, and is probably going to keep going way beyond what I'm at now. Can't stop!
My favorite jobs are Fighter and Hunter - I just find them incredibly useful. As I've gotten further in the game, I realize that some of the races are pretty useless in late game - Moogle for the most part doesn't have a lot of staying power. Smile Toss is nice, but you're essentially trading your turn for somebody else's, so you might as well just raise another person. Humes and Viera, IMO, are the most useful races by far - Seeq don't have much going on outside of Ranger, Nu Mou are too slow for their magick to be as useful as a Viera's, Gria are only useful for ignoring elevation (and Hunter, but they don't have enough to back it up), Bangaa lose usefulness as they're not very variable between jobs. Just my thoughts there. If it isn't in your law, you're free to do it pretty much. Also, the judge only keeps his eyes on your turn. You're free to break the law on enemies turns, using reaction abilities and such (unless those are banned). I often get around damage limits and 'Harming The Weak', by walling in enemies with strong guys with counter |

I had a question about clan members that maybe someone else could help me out with:
With the exception of Adelle, all of my Humes are Male! Is it just a matter of random encounter whether you receive male or female humes, or are all humes male in this game? Also, I noticed that Possible spoilers: highlight to view Adelle has one job slot that is still "?????" even though I have all the Hume jobs now. I'm still in the speculation stage, but I noticed based on my equipment: is there a Dancer job? And if so, is that Adelle's last job? As I'm only up to the point that she just left the party, I really only want to know yes or no to that. My speculation is that she'll come back with a new job, however, I'm not sure what that job is going to be. I'm thinking Dancer (if possible) or Sky Pirate, as I think it a waste to have so much equipment designed for the job that only Vaan and Penelo would be available for at the end of the game. For those that are curious and don't really want to spoil, my spoiler is a question about a character in the later parts of the game. -------------------- If internal struggles were as enjoyable and glamorous as the self conflicted wars within video game characters, we would all be statues, reveling in perpetual self war. -Me Play me on Rock Band 2, GH-WT, or any other Xbox GH! All regular Humes, Bangaa, Seeqs, and Nu Mous are male. All Gria and Viera are female.
Possible spoilers: highlight to view Its not Dancer or Sky Pirate. I'm almost done with this game(at the last battle, or so I think) and I actually started getting bored. But its still a good game, although I'm a little disappointed with the special characters. Except Hurdy, hes my little Moogle Mage. |

Quote (yomama @ 17th August 2008 08:02) Except Hurdy, hes my little Moogle Mage. I liked that you finally gain a character that has some skill off the bat with Hurdy. Becuase he had such a good base, I left him Bard until I went through all my instruments, I find nameless song fun when he's by a bunch of allies, and kinda out of attacking range. ![]() Moreover, I know there's a way to go to certain places in the game to gain clan members of certain races, but I've never taken the time to run and get more Moogles, so Hurdy was my second... of two. ![]() As it is now, I train up my Moogs as Gunners (Fusilliers) because Charmshot is p0wn from across the map. ![]() ![]() I also just got my Dual-Wield teaching katana. Looks like I'll be putting my law privilege into AP up for awhile, but then again, I do that anyways! -------------------- If internal struggles were as enjoyable and glamorous as the self conflicted wars within video game characters, we would all be statues, reveling in perpetual self war. -Me Play me on Rock Band 2, GH-WT, or any other Xbox GH! Is it just me or are the FFTA heroes real arseholes? In the first game your goal is to make your friends miserable by returning them to a world where they're crippled, poor, unpopular and grey. And at the same time forcing all your allies into a state non-existence. In the second game, as far as I could tell, you were slaughtering endless amounts of people and animals because it was "fun". That was your motivation. Who's ganna be the hero in the third? Myra Hindley? Little Hitler?

This game is awesome! The story-line battles take forever to do, though, because I'm so underlevelled that I have to do a crapload of quests to get to a decent level to do the story-line ones.
The story is all right so far, but I like the Duelhorn story more. Are they bad or are they good? Who knows. When does Adelle get her special job? I figure it has to be soon, Possible spoilers: highlight to view I can't wait to get Vaan and Penelo, too. I just finished the battle against the giant hand in the rift place. -------------------- Why, hello guys! Possible spoilers: highlight to view Adelle will leave your party for a short period of time.( its only a few story line quests) Once she comes back, there is will be an event in Zedlei Forest that unlocks the job. That should answer your question King Eddy. Does anyone else thing that Fusilier with mastered onslaught is a little cheap? Seriously, charm shot and a ranged ultima masher, although I'm sure Veira could top that. Has Anyone else tried Brightmoon Tor? I completed the first part, but haven't even tried the second tower yet. The top floor must have been the most insane battle I've seen all game. You think that's bad, wait until you have to do the Bonga Bugle mission investigating strange laws. You have a law against being stolen from, in that one, and every one of your enemies has some sort of stealing ability. Personally, I find that one a little more frustrating than laws against missing or knocking people back. The risk of those two can be carefully, if only partially, controlled. The thing I've found with this game is that it's important to remember that you can break the law now and then. As long as the mission objective doesn't say "Uphold the law" or something to that effect, and you're not using underleveled characters, you're not going to end things for yourself by ignoring an inconvenient law. |

I hate it whenever you break the law completely on accident. Like its something like back attack and you just forget about it and then your like hey back attack and then its like VIOLATION!!.
Has anyone else done the five night watch quests? I've done them but i haven't gotten the quest they are connected to. |

But i couldnt find any information on fairy shoes though. Does anyone else think that the trade system is lame? They could really do it without having someone else being there, and it be exactly the same. Has anyone gotten the chance to use an esper yet? On one mission I had the chance but i didnt know what any of the accessories did. Any idea on where to GET the screamroot? I have the others. and I really want dual wield >.< If anyone has any information on that. PLEASE!!!!!! Let me know!!!! |

FFTA2 is a really good game. I have had it for months and done all but one thing... the final quest. I have played for over 280 hours on a single file!!! It's so good that it is easy to loose track of the time.

Hello! I have to say playing this game on "hard mode" is insane! I've just Saged out my Nu-mou, then found the other two element rods and robes, so I changed him back to Black mage/beastmaster until I get him to learn Thundara (almost done!) and Fira.
I'm trying to get (Luso) to be a Fighter, so I can double it with Hunter and go HIGH POWER FROM A DISTANCE same with fusilier/ Mog Knight and assassin/summoner with doublecast my nu mou I'm Maging out, so I can Sage then Alchemist, (since with alchemist you get the second activity slot plus ITEMS!!!) if I get him to learn a lot of jobs, he'll be my powerhouse! (all speed aside, but that doesn't matter all the time to me...) Quote Haha, I pretty much always break the law. Sometimes intentionally, sometimes accidentally, but it ends up being broken. They should've made the penalties as severe as on the last one, then I'd think twice. Yikes KingEddy! you're missing out on three items of loot per broken law, you know. sometimes they suck, but in half the cases you get some good stuff! (Hello Bazaar!!!) also KingEddy, Possible spoilers: highlight to view you won't see her job title on any of the weapons you have now, she gets Weapons that are unique and that match to her OWN job title! I about Squee'd when I found out! |
