There are a metric ton of games that do achievements and trophies these days. I think the majority of newer XB360 games have them now, and a growing number of PS3 games can or will soon. And if you're a PC gamer, it seems like just about everything coming out on Steam now has them too.

I'm more of a 360 type myself, and I looooove my achivements, but as far as I know, Devil May Cry 4 is supposed to have some sort of a trophy system on PS3.

I think that both the achievements and trophies systems are completely unnecessary, and anyone that considers them as a key element of a game's appeal is a ********.
If you want a list of games with trophies, look at the far-right column on this big ol' chart: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_PlayStation_3_games -------------------- |

Wow, harsh much?
I both like and dislike the thought of trophies in games. I like trophies that applaud actual achievements in games, things that a gamer might accomplish and think "Man, I deserve something for this." But at the same time, I don't like it when games have way too many trophies, because if I like the game, I'll feel compelled to get all of the trophies. This is what turned me away from Star Ocean 3 for quite awhile - I really wanted to get all of the trophies for all of the bosses, and it took a long time to get my characters to a point where they could do this for some of them. -------------------- Hey, put the cellphone down for a while In the night there is something wild Can you hear it breathing? I completely agree with Neal. Most of the time, trophies just seem a little bit pointless and or useless. If it's a realistic accomplishment that actually deserves a trophy, then that's great. It's even better if there is some sort of in-game prize for the accomplishment. Other than that, I've never really even tried to complete trophies, since most of them require a lot of extra work.

Trophies can be good for adding some life to your games, but some of them are just silly. For example Warhawk has one which requires you to come first in a Deathmatch and to not die during the game. Yes both at once.
So if you only play against a group of skilled players, it's not going to happen. Everyone will just cheat and set up a one on one game against a friend to make sure they get that extra trophy. I did very much enjoy getting the Super Star Dust HD trophies. Most of the trophies on that made sense and I felt an accomplishment for getting them.
