Over the past several months I've been lookin' back at some of my older character designs and seeing if I could somehow improve upon them in newer drawings. While I haven't necessarily improved in technical skill since the older versions, I like to think these characters have gotten better at least in terms of design. So far, I've completed a new version for each of three characters. Each of the following images have both the old and new versions side by side for your comparing pleasure:

Mercenary Lady


Really, she's goin' to have an almost completely new design if/when I get done with her.

And that's a small sampling of what I've drawn since I last posted art in Your Creations. If I manage to complete the next two to my liking, I may post 'em here at some point, as well.

Console RPG Cliches

i like the newer versions a LOT better for the demons, but not so much for the lancer. As much as it is more beautifully detailed, it looks a bit weird compared to the first of the two drafts.

Altogether very nice though!

If by weird you mean her slightly smashed appearance, then yes, it's something I noticed a while back. I even managed a quick fix for it . Okay, so the fix isn't perfect, heh. Coulda sworn it looked alright on paper...

Otherwise, you may need to elaborate.

Console RPG Cliches

Yes, folks, once upon a time, I used to be a more prolific poster of arts in CoN's Your Creations forums. Not so much, anymore.

But enough of that. I showed a preview of Mercenary Lady V2 way back in August (posted above) and actually finished it a few months ago. And because I couldn't decide on her style of fighting, I just drew two pics of her.

I'm also working (rather slowly) on a new version of yet another old character design and will likely post him, too, when I'm done. In the meantime. (Meh, linking to my DA account cuz the file attachment function didn't work for the pic. Wonder why...)

Definite improvement on the demons. Lots of added subtleties that make them very impressive.

Noticeable improvement on Mercenary Lady's face as well. More feminine face with some scars and cooler hair. I'm jealous.

Bravo on your body form.
