I am trying to capture a Good Chocobo near the Gold Saucer, but they never ever ever show up.

I've been doing this for hours and only get Chocobos with a Harpy or two Flapbeats, never the Good Chocobo with 2 Spencers.

Is that only possible to find on Disc 3? I am currently on Disc 2 and trying to get River/Mountain chocobos before Disc 3, then doing Black/Gold on 3.

I can find the Great Chocobos next to Mideel very easily, but getting that Good seems impossible.

I am using Chocobo Lure materia that is 1 star away from being mastered. I don't know if that matters or not.

If all else, is there other combos/nuts you can do to get the River and Mountain chocobos?

Edit: I am playing the original release on Playstation 1.

I usually caught my goods/greats at the tracks north of Rocket Town. Much more reliable there.

Rocket Town chocobos:


1 Velcher Task & 1 Kyuvilduns - Mediocre
2 Velcher Task - Mediocre
2 Valron - Great
2 Kyuvilduns - Great

There is only 1 encounter in the entire game that produces a Good quality chocobo, and that's 2 Spencers near the Gold Saucer.

You can use two greats... or at least I did...

I might be wrong, but if I am don't throw a stone at me or anything ;p my memories are blurry regarding on it, but I remember getting chocobo of different quality from what the walkthrough stated.

Like i said, I can be wrong, but if you already spent hours trying to get a good chocobo, why not try again without running about from groups without two spencers?

don't get me wrong, the CoN walkthrough is awesome.
