Ok, this is just a prerequisite post to see if anyone would be interested in a fantasy football league via Yahoo. For an actual good league, I think there should be at least 8 people.
Also, if anyone else is interested in commissioning the league, that'd be great. Because I'm already commissioner of one other league I'm in and I dont' think I'd want to be in charge of two leagues at once.
Anyway...

I'd be willing to be commish once more if we are going to have a bit greater participation in the league than we had last year.   We need more than 3 or 4 teams actually making roster and line up changes each week.

Definitely I'm in. This year I shall have revenge. To anyone who's never played or doesn't know what it is:

What you do is select a number players from the NFL (QBs, RBs, WRs, etc), as well as a team Defense (Chicago's defense, San Fran's defense, etc.). You have a draft at the beginning of the season in order to pick your players (obviously, you'd want your first pick to be a Priest Holmes, Donovan Mcnabb, or Terrell Owens, etc.)

Once you have your team, you can make roster changes all season long, to get rid of your players that are doing bad or injured, and sub in the ones that are hot in the NFL (as long as someone doesn't already have them on their team).

You go head to head against other people in your league each week, and who wins is determined by how many points your team receives. If your quarterback throws a few TD's, your running back(s) has a strong game, your WR(s) do good, and your defense holds their team to a shut out (all of this in real life of course), then you more than likely are going to win that week.

Anyways, it's fun. And just because you start off bad, doesn't mean you'll be bad, make a few roster changes and you can shoot right back to the top.

We are going to do an auto draft this year instead of the live draft that we did last year.  What this means is that you rank the players that you want the most and Yahoo drafts them for you if they are available.  Everyone needs to have their players ranked by Noon EST on Tuesday Sept. 2nd or Yahoo's default rankings will be used.  After that time, I'll set the league's status to ready, and the draft will occur within 72 hours at the least (Ihave no control over that).

Isn't that what we did last year? Meh, i don't know, too many fantasy things. Boo to the non-live draft though. Because I can rate the 1st rounders just fine, but later on I like to see what position I need and what's available and all. I might get 2 wrs before i even get a QB, because the ones I had rated were already picked etc. Who knows..

Okay, how about this:  If we can settle on a time that 80% of the people in the league can make it, we can do a live draft like we did last year.  

If we don't reach the 80% will stick with the auto-draft as it is set up know.

Okay, this will is how it will be. (If there aren't too many complaints about it, that is )  I'll will let the Yahoo know we are ready for the auto draft onTuesday, September 2nd at 10:30 PM EST.  This means you have to do your player rankings (it is one of the options under when you click on your team name) for then.  If you aren't able to, don't worry too much as it will use Yahoo's default rankings for you.

I wanted to do a live draft, but Yahoo have any free spots until September 10th.  And it isn't feasible to do the draft like we did last year.  So we're going to have to go with the auto draft.  Unless people want to skip the first week of the NFL season, then we could do a live draft.  Let me know what you think about that.  Plan on having your ranking to be set for tomorrow night for an automatic draft though.

I've had some swell luck with my 4 other leagues... (note: that was the first time I've EVER used the word "swell" and meant it ) and even if not, it's all about trades and free agents

If you want to get in Survivor Football (where you have to pick a winning team every week or you're eliminated) feel free. Just go to the Survivor Football link on the sidebar (of yahoo fantasy sports) click on join private league, #9147, password= narshe. It's less work than fantasy football and more people can join, so feel free to jump in even if you aren't a part of our fantasy league. It starts for us in Week 2, so don't feel too rushed about it, either.

Just a reminder:

There is a game tonight (Redskins and the Jets). If you have players from either of those two teams that you would like to play this week, make sure you have them in your starting lineups before the game begins. Otherwise you will have to wait until next week.

Like-wise, if you have players from either of those teams in your starting lineups but don't want to play this week, make sure to get them off before to get them off before the game starts.

Bump to let everyone that the rosters have been expanded. You can now keep up to 10 people on your bench instead of 6.

The reasoning behind this is that 6 is just too small with the number of injuries that have been occuring around the league and adding weekly team byes, it seems like this was the best course of action.
