I personally never use these characters, I can give a character a low brave with a mediator or Beowulf, so who really needs them just for move find item? (The only previous explanation people have had for using them). Their skillsets are pretty random, so there's about one shot in ten that actually does damage, it's really not that cool to watch your characters miss every attack. What does everybody else think? Did I miss the boat here?

Sometimes I use them, other times I just dismiss them. I like using Rafa because her very low Bravery makes for a useful Treasure Hunter and she has high Magic attack power, but I think Reis's Magic natural magic growth is superior. Some games I'll dismiss Malak, however, other times I'll keep him. I don't know why, but for some reason, I like having Rafa around.

I don't use them (I despise their skillset) but I don't dismiss them either. I have this weird thing where I always keep the unique characters (even Boco and Byblos!).

Reis's magic growth is WAY better than any other character's. It's really not even close.
I don't like using either of them, because I don't like leaving that much to chance - I prefer guaranteed damage, so I always avoid characters that depend on random damage or Faith-based damage, because the damage depends so strongly on luck and enemies' Faith values. I like Malak okay, as he can excel at using rods (a very good, underrated weapon) with his high MA and does fine with low Faith values, but I prefer the swordsmen and swordswomen when it comes to non-generics. -------------------- |

i never use either of them. i hate theif skillsets, and there are much better chars than these 2. i usually keep them though, like ruin's fate said. i just honestly think their skills are useless.

I really like Rafa and Malak's role in the story line. I find their skills to be useless and not even interesting, so I have never used them. They've had a rough time anyways, they can go relax together on a rather grand vacation of luxury and avarice.

As for the rest of you; I know! What is that tendency to keep a useless character hanging around? Maybe you feel guilty about how they were used their whole lives? I just thought it was funny, because I did the same friggin' thing all the time! They just eat up space in your group! ![]() This post has been edited by Calculate_Death on 6th June 2008 08:19 |

I always keep all of the unique characters, but I only really used Rafa and Malak's skills in the PSP version, where they've been boosted to the point of actually being useful.

Well, I mostly in the "don't dismiss" category, (cept for Rad + company) well, I won't get rid of em. But seriously, I tend to use Rafa if I'm not using an OP char, like Cid, maybe Beowulf. But never Malak, (maybe cuz I like my female chars

What with the new party limit, I no longer dismiss them, for completion's sake, but I certainly do not use them.

I guess that if/when I am able to afford a psp (hardly likely) or I find a decent emulator for the computer, again unlikely, I will get them in the new version, but with only 16 slots, I can't justify their craptastic-ness.

I'm of the opinion that their skillsets are horrid, but I cannot bring myself to dismiss them for the sake of being complete.

I like to use Malak, because he looks cool. Cooler than a generic anyway, I usually make him a thief or ninja.

For some reason that I dont know, I actally find them useful. Rafa is a good treasure hunter and yet even with low brave, she can do pretty good damage and activating her reaction (to me at least
