The only thing I've ever found myself doing with Cid is selling his stuff at a shop and immediately dismissing him. Excalibur is a nice gift for Agiras.

Why would you use Agiras over Orlandu? Orlandu is a better version of Agiras

This thread made me laugh.
Well mostly when i get cid i make him a time mage because of his high magic attack power. -------------------- All those moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain. Broccoli to die. |

I generally keep him in his base class and give him Punch Art, MP Switch, Attack Up, and Move+3. MP Switch can get restored by Chakra and he tears stuff up with Lightning Stab. He's probably the best unique character in the game.

That's right; dismiss the jerk. Who needs his matchless power? I think killing him yourself in battle would be the right thing to do. I'm all bad 'cuz I've got all the sword skills.... look at me be awesome.... keep on dreaming Orlandu
No, seriously, he's one of the best characters in the game. Or were you being funny? I get jokes.... |

Q. What to do with Orlandu?
A. Wreck shit Seriously, he's the most unbalancing character to ever grace an RPG roster. The game becomes EZ mode the moment you get him. If you want a challenge, then dismiss him. Let him wander around the countryside alone as a ronin. If you want to be able to play around a bit with other classes but not die in lots of fights, keep him on your roster. He's also excellent to have on the field when you are leveling up weak party members or their sklills and run into the occasional 15 monks. ![]() -------------------- Join the Army, see the world, meet interesting people - and kill them. ~Pacifist Badge, 1978 |

There are some battles in Ch. 4 in which I have some difficulty, so I bring him along to make things easier. I don't teach him many expensive, powerful skills outside of his innate swordskills because he's powerful and un-balanced enough without Shirahadori (Blade Grasp), First Strike (Hamedo), Math Skills, and Move+3. I just keep him as he is with a mediocre ability set-up like Parry, Move+1, and a few items or whatever.

I usually keep him in his base class and give him a Nagrarok so he doesn't OHKO everything in sight. Yes he breaks the game, but unless there's some urgent reason why he's got to hit the sticks, I keep him around.

Hey some good posts, guys! Ya, it's a lighthearted topic but seriously, Orlandu makes the game too easy and anyone whom instructs you to call him Thunder God Cid needs a lesson in humility. And yes I'm a fan of Agrais.

are you kidding me, of course you want to take his stuff then disband him. I mean, who does this guy think he is? T.G. CID?? Kind of suspicious. Who makes up their own nickname? His name was orlandou, or whatever, it doesn
t even matter what his hame is, he got on my nerves and I got rid of him. He will forever live in the shadows now. -------------------- the more words you put together, the more misunderstandings you create. - somebody famous and smart - |

I make him a type of mage, if I use him at all. His base class makes the game a lot easier than it already is, so I only use it till he masters it.

The thing I like about Orlandu is that unlike most everybody else, very little strategy is needed to make him the most valuable member of your party, so it's great to experiment with him or do what I do and be totally nonchalant about his skill selection and ability-learning techniques.

If you dont have him join up, I've been told of an alternate end sequence that happens. Ive never actualy tried this because you miss out on uber equipment and yes, i must confess, i use him regularly

The fourth option, he may seem cheap to some, but it nothing compared to the brokeness of the move Paling in FFXII, but I do use Cid extensively.

I use him whenever I need to get through a stage quickly. If I'm playing before work and hit a random battle, Orlandu gets the call. He's too efficient at killing to get rid of.

I used to use Orlandu a lot, but not so much anymore. Now I only put him in my party when I get a random encounter I don't want to deal with, like if I'm trying to pick up units from a proposition. Although sometimes I just use him because it is fun to watch him crush the poor enemy units.

Orlandu takes barely any tactics to use "properly". BOOM! kill. BOOM! kill. YAAAAWN. I mostly use Orlandu for one of two things:
As an "Ace up my Sleeve" when training up four of my weaker characters, or by pairing him up with one other unit (Choco, Healer, or Agrias usually), dropping him in the deep dungeon, and enjoying the actual possibility of losing the fight. As the fifth character on a regular team, using Orlandu guarantees a win.
