I'm going to have to update my "Best Recent Purchase" category because today I was finally able to get my hands on a PSP! By chance, this girl who hangs out with one of my suitemates was looking to get rid of a PSP she had purchased over spring break before move-out day. She had only touched the system once before putting it back in the box and completely forgetting about it until now. So for $150, I was able to get a brand-new PSP complete with a memory stick, a case, and a copy of the PSP version of Tactics!.

Best Buy: The Phoenix Wright (and Apollo Justice) series. While some of the cases are absolutely awful (I'm looking at you, Big Top Turnabout), most of them are simply epic and have a great story to them.

Worst: Lunar Knights. I heard so my hype about this game that I went and got it. Big mistake. The menus, battle system, and dialogs were annoying, and it just wasn't that great of a game.

Best: Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind. i was told by three different people, whose opinions i usually trust, not to buy this game. but i saw it getting such good reviews, so i decided to get it. i was right. my favorite game of all time. hands down. this game did an abssolutely perfect job of making you feel like just another guy in the world. around any ebnd you could run into an enemy that could kill just by thinking about it. if you want to be death incarnate, you gotta work for it. not to mention the absolutely massive world you get to run around in.

Worst: Midnight Club III. this game got really good reviews too. and i love me some racings games. i say avoid this game at all costs. this game takes absolutely no skill whatsoever to play. making every turn in the game takes little more than slamming on the e-brake and launching your car into the most ridiculous powerslide that it just snaps right out of as soon ass you're ready to stop. bad game. DO NOT WANT.

Wow NEAL, you just brought back a bunch of memories of me playing NBA JAM Tournament Edition at my local arcade (you can hear the youngsters asking, ARCADE?). Now, the GB edition was bad, I actualy bought that game for SuperNES. I had so much fun with it I even bought it for the PSone when it came out, and then came NBA JAM Extreme, and that was it for NBA JAM.

ever played a first person shooter before. o well i guess the millions of people who play halo are idiots and should be playing.... the game thats not popular and has sold negative 5 copies.

for the last time the only two reasons people hate halo is cause they go into the game hating it and they set there standards EXTREMELY high.

it sold alot for a reason, great game play and online.

Will you leave my opinion alone, the minute any talks negatively about your precious Halo you have a fit
I didn't decide to hate Halo before playing it, I just find it incredibly balnd and boring when compared to Timesplitters and Metroid Prime, also, I'm not much of an FPS fan

Oh yeah, best purchase was two great PC games for 99p buy one get one free at Gamestation in York
Broken Sword 2 and X2

Actually, if it wasn't for the fact it was bought for me by my grandparents the fact that it was £3.50 brand new (We have a good friend who works at a market stall selling games) FF6 would have been my number 1 purchace, I love it
My views on 6 is the exact opposite to yours

Rofl, danny and blizera dukin it out! Anyway my best purchase would probaly be Shining Force for the GBA because the story line and the characters were amazing. (Who can't love a werewolf named Zylo?) The added card system was also ingenious.

My worst purchase ever was Sword of Mana for the GBA... That game was confusing and a waste of my money. Half the game I was trying to figure out how to get the controls down. This added to the weird storyline was too much, I sold it in less than a week.

Another reason I liked Shining Force was because it actually challenged you to train hard! Unlike Sword of Mana where it challenged me by figuring out what the heck I was doing!

Newest buy: FFTA2: $20
With 20 dollars in trade in cash I got a new game very cheap smile.gif

Worst buy:
Usually I don't buy my worst games, their usually gifts... Thank God... unsure.gif

And the GBA Shining Force... I Need to add that one to my collection. I've got the PC version in the Sega Smash Pack and that's the game I've logged on the most. Sword of Mana SHOULD have been better. dry.gif

Key word SHOULD, the truth is the game was bad. I expected more and that's why I bought it. Have you played it before and what did you think if you did StarSoul?

You should definately get Shining Force for the GBA, they added a new card system that really helps out and adds to the fun of the game. When you played through Shining force did you get Hanzou and Musashi?

We can have other threads to talk about these games, there's no need to have a conversation about them in this thread, since it's not the topic. -R51

I have a new best purchase, inspired by none other than Karasuman right here on the caves. Her news post about new Squenix games mentions at the bottom an iPod game called Song Summoner. My full synopsis on it so far is in that thread, but for $5, it was worth it... WORTH IT.

My best buy has to be Deus Ex. Mostly because it was £5 and I'd only heard a whisper of it before playing it. The cover sold it more than anything! It's now one of my top games.

Worst buy has to be renting Lost Odyssey, so it's not really a buy, but I think we can make an exception here. My friend and I had many a moment where we just looked at each other with the same blank expression - first from the battles, then the characters, and finally the music.

Lately I've been getting lucky with my video game purchases. Bought Mortal Kombat 2 for 20 bucks, and Chrono Cross for an astounding 16 $.

Probably my worst purchase would be Tony Hawk 4, because the levels where really small and tight. Tony Hawk video games dont even come close to what skateboarding is really about.

My all time best purchase would have to have been FF9 for 10$. Even though i havent finished it, i planned to in the near future. But right now, all I want to do is beat Kintaro and Shau Kahn on Mortal Kombat 2. : )

Well, 11 years ago I bought FFVI, IV, Chrono Trigger, F-Zero, Sim City, Terranigma and Mario All-Stars (all SNES, duh) off of my sisters boyfriend for $40 and he thought he was getting the steal. I know, unbelievable. Recently sold Chrono Trigger on eBay for $67 (poor sap).

Also traded Bushido Blade 1 and 2 to a friend for Tactics Ogre: Knights of Lodis which is a priceless game that I still play...that was also a looong time ago.

Those were my best obviously.

Worst: $45.99 for Radiata Stories. Not a terrible game overall, just something I wish I had found used.

Best: Kingdom Hearts. If anything because I thought the whole concept was a bit silly, but ended up buying it and was thoroughly enjoyed!

Worst: The Bouncer. Honestly. What a joke. And I paid retail.

My worst purchase would have to be that starfox command game for the ds. Argh i so wish i didnt buy that rtarded game. My best purchase would be a tie between riviera the promised land (Gba version) and luminous arc. Both made by the same company and both wonderful games.

No one ever buys me a game unless I specify what I want. *is fussy*

My best purchases ever were:

~Golden Sun: The Lost age. I beat that game more than six times and I love it to death. It also showed me there was a first one (Golden Sun) pinch.gif

~Tales of Symphonia. Another game I beat more times than I can count. It's like my soul mate or something. It also introduced me to the Tales series, which I've gotten a lot of entertainment out of.

~Final Fantasy IX. My fave FF. Although I only beat it once, it was the game that really propelled me into FF.

~Breath of Fire 3. Not a super popular game, but I played it once when I was younger (only a few hours in) and I thought it was like the best game ever. I spent a bunch of years after that trying to get my hands on a copy and I was so happy when my friend ordered a copy for me. It is a fun game, but it's the nostalgia that gets me.

As for worst purchses, I can't think of any right now. That's gonna bug me for the rest of the day.

Best: Probably FFTA2, or Disgaea 2(DS games are nice cause they are normally under $40.)

Worst: Um, Rayman on the store on the PS3, or perhaps Twilight Princess, but that was a gift.

Best purchase... would be Final Fantasy XII and Tekken 5 both for about seventeen dollars, gotta love sales.

Worst would probably be Monsters Inc Scare Island for forty dollars.... I was young and naive... it was a fun game but not worth that money XD

I wouldn't really call it a worst purchase but right now I'm regretting purhasing Animal Crossing for the Wii. There just wasn't enough revolutionary or new to really make plunkng down the money for it worth it as opposed to just starting a new town on the GameCube version.
