In all versions except the GBA version, M. Block works for both physcial and magical evade.
So stuff that increases your M. Block (Force Armor/Shields, Enhancers, Bard Hats, Mystery Veils, Tao Robe, Magus Rods, etc) are worth thier weight in gold. Stuff that boosts evasion (Swordbreaker and probably others) are worth a lot less. In the GBA version only, Evasion works properly, so any Evade boosters are effective. -------------------- Really Random Quote of the Day: "Short of changing human nature, therefore, the only way to achieve a practical, livable peace in a world of competing nations is to take the profit out of war." - Richard M. Yeah. Just avoid evasion entirely, like the Zepher Cape (which is completely useless), and focus on M Block. I can't think of an item or relic that helps though.
