My most recent was Beyond Good & Evil on PS2 for £3.99.
I bought FFVI on PS1 off a mate at school for £5 and FFVII off another one for £12. The worst I can think of is FFVIII £20+ off Amazon and then spending more cleaning the goddamn non-working discs. |

My best purchase without question is definitely my 25th birthday splurge when I bought a PSP and Final Fantasy Tactics: War of the Lions and a Memory Stick.
My worst purchase was Final Fantasy Anthology (V and VI) for the Playstation to play on my Playstation 2. Not for the game(s) itself, but because I didn't get far enough in it before my PS2 stopped reading PSX games. -------------------- "Thought I was dead, eh? Not until I fulfill my dream!" My most recent best buy was Contra 4 as I got it for £20 which might seem not a good deal, but most DS games cost £30 in the UK and plus I had to import this game from America as its not out in the UK.
My worst buy has to be FFXI Online due to the fact that it took me ages to level up it got boring and I had to pay for the online subscription. -------------------- Snake: I'm no hero...never was...never will be... my worst purchases have to be when i just recently bought Mercenaries and Harry Potter Goblet of Fire a few years ago. Mercenaries, as some of you might know has been on the market for quite a while and it only cost like, what, 10$ for Xbox but I just bought the game for the PS2 for $30 freakin' dollars! I dont like Gamestop anymore
As for Goblet of Fire, I played it for about total amount of 30 minutes when i just got fed up with it and returned for something better My best "purchase," if you want to call it that, was FFVII which i got for $0 ...that's right nothing what happened was my sister's fiance had almost every FF game out there and i really wanted to play #7 so I asked him if i could borrow it and he agreed. What makes me feel really bad is that a few weeks later my sister left him and we never see him again since he lives far away. So he might never get FF7 back and that kinda sucks -------------------- Rudy: "You did all this to become immortal. Why?" Castillo: "To live forever." -The House of the Dead |

My most recent best buy was The World Ends With You for the DS. Absolutely great game and worth every penny I spent on it. My most recent bad call in games Etryian Odyssey for the DS. That game is a whole lot of grinding and a whole lot more suck.
On that note, I'd have to say buying my DS is one of the best purchases I've ever made. Really, I play it nearly every day on the trip to and from school and work. Back in '01, I got my PS2 complete with Metal Gear Solid, Final Fantasy Tactics, Castlevania: Symphony of the Night. I bought 'em all off a friend for 80$, probably the best 80$ I've spent to date. -------------------- Okay, but there was a goat! |

My greatest buy of all times has to be the Playstation One, I've played the best games I've ever played on that system, to name four of them (Final Fantasy VII; Metal Gear Solid; Gran Turismo 2; Street Fighter Alpha 3), and I still have the system with me to this day and the best part of it, IT WORKS PERFECTLY, which sometimes leads me to believe that the PSone is the greatest system of all time.
My most recent best buy has to be the Metal Gear Box Set. My worst buy of all times with out a doubt has to be "The Bouncer" for the PS2, $59.99 brand new just released. OUCH! My most recent worst buy, NONE, I learned from "The Bouncer"! -------------------- PS3 tag: TipoDLuffy "...quite possibly the greatest game ever made" |

My best recent purchase was Okami last summer, which I somehow found used for around $12 or $13 US. I got plenty of bang for those bucks.
But my best all-time purchase? That's a tough one. It could be the time I picked up a SNES with Mega Man X and Super Mario World for $100 back when I was ten (with my own saved-up money!), or when I picked up Devil May Cry 1 on a whim for seven bucks four years ago, or when I picked up Final Fantasy Tactics used for $18 around seven or eight years ago. All of those turned out brilliantly. EDIT: my worst recent purchases were, by a long shot, Children of Mana and Etrian Odyssey. Horrible, horrible games. All-time it's probably Lagoon. Ouch, The Bouncer at full price!
Now that is a harsh lesson to learn. The first game I ever purchased myself was Crash Bandicoot at £49.99 Three days later I had unlocked everything and completed it. I felt a bit sick. That was all my money! Kids eh? It was a good game though in fairness, just far too short for my liking. My best purchases are, erm... well my friend told me his PSN ID password for the PS3, so I can download all the games he's paid for for free off there. So that works pretty well. And everyone everywhere tells me this is completely legal. And I can find nothing that Sony has written that states otherwise. They seem to imply they're happy for people to do it. Ok, so technically I didn't purchase the games, but it's a nice bargain nonetheless. Playing Stardust HD for free is goodness. -------------------- 'Let that be a lesson to all oppressive vegetable sellers.' |

Jericho for X-Box 360. Worst game I've played for awhile
Best purchases were probably FF III on DS and Lost Odyssey. Love those games. Halo 3 was another good one for a party game This post has been edited by painreaver on 2nd May 2008 22:19 |

Best Recent Purchase: Final Fantasy XII. The only RPG where I have not unlocked/obtained every single little thing and beaten every enemy.
Best Purchase Ever: Star Ocean II. I managed to find a factory-sealed copy in the back of a random EB Games for the low price of $20.00! (This was years after the game went out of print!) Best Freebie: Receiving both the original SNES carts for both Chrono Trigger and The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past. Worst Recent Purchase: Suikoden III. I was sadly mistaken when I thought it would be as good as the first two. Worst Purchase Ever: The Lord of the Rings - The Third Age. My hard-earned $50.00 was not worth a cheap FFX rip-off that was just plain atrocious! -------------------- Music is a mysterious thing... Im a pretty stingy guy, so i've ended up with quite a few good purchases:
-FFVIII, sealed and the walkthrough in perfect condition for $20, sometime last year. -FFX, used but in good condition for $10. I don't think there is any part of that game that i overlooked. -Vagrant Story. i found this used and at a local gaming store for something around $8. when i went there, i expected to find nothing, but vagrant story got me interested and there's few games i love more. Quote Worst Purchase Ever: The Lord of the Rings - The Third Age. My hard-earned $50.00 was not worth a cheap FFX rip-off that was just plain atrocious! i would totally agree, except for one thing: LotR- the third age was what led me to my first final fantasy, FFX. had it not been for that game, i might not have started my RPG-playing days, or at least not nearly as soon. My worst purchase would have to be Star Ocean 2. i just really didn't get into the game, probably because tri-ace didn't even bother writing a plot for it. I bought it online for $30, and i've never regretted any purchase more. -------------------- Currently Playing : Final Fantasy V Most Recently Beat : Elder Scrolls: Skyrim Favorite Game : Final Fantasy X The newest CoNcast is up! Best/Worst in this case is pretty damned easy to decide.
Best ------ Ico: I'd heard nothing but good things, but I hadn't heard anything great about it either. As far as reviews went, it seemed to be pretty much a 8/B/**** kinda game. so I never had much interest for grabbing it. When I did finally get it, it was only because the game I did want was no longer available. It was cheap - being over a year old - and again, I hadn't heard anything bad about it, other than it being short and I had money to burn so I thought, "Why not...". Now I can't even remember what I actually wanted to purchase. Not that it matters, it would have been miles behind what I got. Worst -------- FFVIII: This was my first 'fan buy'. Y'know what I mean, (least Blizzara God would This post has been edited by Narratorway on 3rd May 2008 02:24 -------------------- |

best recent would be either tactics advance (for $40 ish, cause my a$$hole of a friend stole $30 from me, i really bought for $10) and worst would have to be.....uhh...huh....thats tough. i go through rigorous screening process with my games, so the most recent worst would be FF X-2...great class system (swapping, not dress-spheres....never dress-spheres...)

I bought a used Super Nintendo for $30 a few months ago. While that might not sound like a deal, I got 14 games with it, including Star Fox, Super Mario World 2, and Final Fantasy III.
I'd have to say my worst purchase was Yoshi Touch & Go for $35...what a rip off. That game isn't even worth $5. |

Quote -FFVIII, sealed and the walkthrough in perfect condition for $20, sometime last year Nice, I myself have been trying to find this game everywhere. One of the worst buy ever made by myself was the Final Fantasy IX strategy guide. I remember when I first opened the thing i said, WHAT THE HELL?. Why would I want a strategy guide that only says, GO ONLINE AND FIND OUT. That was stupid. Back then all I had was a 56k connection and downloading stuff from Playonline.com took way too long. One of my best buy's also has to be after one of those Christmas that my family had given me lots o' money, I remember I went out and got (Street Fighter Alpha 3; Ready 2 Rumble Boxing; Ridge Racer Type 4; Gran Turismo 2; Resident Evil 3: NEMESIS). That year was sweetness made into video games, I didn't have to buy another game for months, actualy after that I bought Final Fantasy IX, my last PSone game, and then came the PS2. All those games I just mentioned cost me like $230 to $260 somewhere around there. Now all those games together should come up to like $60. Back then it was a great deal. OH, Before I forget, I know it's not a video game, but just recently I went to WalMart and bought the entire season one of BLEACH for just $33? It had to be an error, I mean each DVD cost $24.99, and season one has 5 discs, you do the math, the result will be a "How'd you do it BUY?" I like to receive video games as gifts, and the worst I have ever gotten was "Gundam Seed: Neverending Tomorrow". So, I adored the anime back then, but the game was was crap and short. I also hated getting the Fellowship of the Ring (LotR) game. It wasn't much better than that.
I bought FFVI for $12 from a sibling. It was a great investment. FFXII was also a Christmas gift, and I got Madden 2005 (used) a couple years ago from GameStop. It was only $5. -------------------- "All roads are connected somehow. And they all lead to a time of salvation, where imprisoned souls will be freed. I've been collecting best buy reward zone points, and finally accumulated enough to give me $110 worth of money off a purchase, so I went out and bought Call of Duty 4 and Army of Two brand new for (after adjusted for $110 off) $10!
Army of Two was sadly short, but I co-op ed it with one of my roomates, and it was absolutely fantastic. Everything we wanted, just not the more. As for CoD4: I haven't stopped playing it yet. I grudgingly had to change the disc in the 360 over to rock band when a friend came over the other night, but it'll be back to the CoD soon enough. Me + Sniping = Worst purchase: RPG Maker 2. Yay for paying $50 for 10 minutes of confusion. I was one of those people that was like: "Oh Emm Gee! They made it more open for customization this time!!!" That's when I discovered why having boundaries was a good idea. I didn't want to have to learn a new programming language just to fiddle with game mechanics. -------------------- If internal struggles were as enjoyable and glamorous as the self conflicted wars within video game characters, we would all be statues, reveling in perpetual self war. -Me Play me on Rock Band 2, GH-WT, or any other Xbox GH! Best: Baldur's Gate II: Shadows of Amn and the expansion, Throne of Bhaal, both for $70. Got 'em shortly after ToB came out. My fave game, hands down, to this day. I coulda spent $100 on 'em and not have regretted it.
Worst: Chrono Trigger, not cuz it's a bad game, but mostly for the fact that I spent $70 on a new copy. Despite the godly status most people give it, I always thought it was somewhat overrated. $30 would have been a good deal and even $40-50 wouldn't have been regrettable, but I guess I should just be thankful I haven't bought a game that I truly disliked. -------------------- |

I've paid the full £25 price tag for them when they're released, but only got round to playing them for the first time by the time they'd dropped to around £13. Best purchase though? Pokemon Diamond. £30, 270 hours of gameplay so far, and I'm no where near getting bored of it. |

This is a toughie. I'd say worst purchase was $20 for Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories for the GBA. That was the first KH game I played, and that game turned me off to the KH series almost permanently. I sold it back and gave the strategy guide away.

The best thing I've ever bought, gaming-related, is definitely my DS. I picked it up sort of on a whim, knowing there were about five games that I could really sink my teeth into, but it's turned into my favorite console that I've ever owned. I have about fifteen games and just about all of them are amazing. The only game I regret buying was Mario 64 DS, as the controls were awkward and it ruined a very good game.
The worst purchase I ever made was a basketball game for the original game boy. I don't remember if it was NBA Jam Tournament Edition, but I believe it was. It was just .... awful. I was really upset, especially when Target wouldn't allow me to return it. -------------------- Hey, put the cellphone down for a while In the night there is something wild Can you hear it breathing?
