There are a lot on potentially emotional points in FF6, but has anyone ever cried? My wife has. She has only played through a few times and still cries every time
Possible spoilers: highlight to view
Rachel (Locke's GF) can't remember that " she said 'yes' ", and then remembers right before dying.
How about the rest of you?

The music is what really brings tears.

I never properly 'cried' during this game I don't think.

But saddest bits were generally when charactors died, mainly
Possible spoilers: highlight to view
Cyan's family, Rachel, Cid, Leo

And yes the music kinda helps with these games. Without the music we just wouldn't care who was dying (like in Titanic - always gets me when Jack dies and they play Celine Dion).

I've never actully cried during the game. But FFVI was the game that affected me emotionally the most the saddest part is probebly the relationship between Locke and Rachel.

Also, I am the only one here who likes to save Cid?

No, I save him too. Just wouldn't feel right to let him die.

I think you guys went a bit off-topic with Cid in the end! Anywho, I used to get teary in many of the emotional parts in the game! The music really does affect the scenes since you don't hear anything but the music in the game :S If this game was made to be a movie, I think it would bring the audience to tears if the parts were played right!

One of the scenes that I imagine won't get mentioned so I will...

Just before leaving Albrook for Thamasa, Celes returns to the party after a long absence, but there is ambivalence between her and Locke because of the uncertain terms on which they parted. Hard not to spoil it, but the music there when Locke first walks outside and sees her standing there, and then the way it segues into the opera music. It's just amazing.

The end of the game brought tears to my eyes; it being the last scene of the game made me quite melancholy. My sister and I were watching it first time and after all of the beautiful music and the words "The End" and all I could say was, "Holy crap, man. It's over." I was also in a state of awe.

There are a handful of other scenes that are sad (ones that people have mentioned), but none of them ever brought me to tears.

I remember when I first played I kept on messing up at the end and I would have to restart. It was so great when I finally saw the ending for the first time.

I remember really being struck once by the how desolate Narshe is in WOR with the sparse organ music and tearing up. It was odd.

The last part of the ending sequence still gets me a little verklempt now and again. tongue.gif

I didnt cry during the game, but cyans family being poisoned and when he meets them in his dream was actually very sad. It shows how bad some people are in the world to kill for their needs (kinda reminds of the Darfur genocide actually).

His family dying is probably the saddest part of the game.

Personally, I found Final Fantasy 6 to be the best game in the series, and I am not a wimp because i felt for the characters some and cried a little. Final Fantasy 6 was a very emotional game. The one scene that made me actually cry was the optional part when Cid dies and Celes attempts to commit suicide. Her theme fit perfectly with that unsure.gif

true that was heart wrenching, watching cid die, plus i when i first saw it (back when i first played) i thought celes and the group were the only ones alive until i came to the first town. what i didn't expect was having to re-unite all the chars. i thought they'd come down and find me lol.
