this game is appropriate for a 4 year old. if he likes pokemon, even remotely, then he should get it. the games are fun, and there are tons of things to do in them, and you can play capture the flag with friends, trade with them, etc.

I think Pokemon games are fun for somebody at any age. The normal gameplay and battles might get a little repetitive battle may get a little boring (I only know this from playing other Pokemon games) but don't let a completely childish television show discourage you or your little brother.

As dcr said, it's more of a multiplayer thing now, which is quite cool.

What i meant by appropriate is, will they be suitable for a kid his age,,,Meaning that Thant wont be a joke every 5 seconds where he can make a stupid sexual innuendo.

Yes, it's fine. It has an E rating from the ESRB, which means that it's appropriate for everyone over 5 years of age. 14 is a little over 5. Those ratings are there for a reason.

well, one of the first pokemon you catch is called "Bidoof" (pronounced bih-doooof), which i refuse to call anything other than bead-off, but thats about it.

I don't think a fourteen year old male can play any game without making a sexual innuendo, unless they're extremely mature. I don't think maturity is possible for 97% of males at fourteen.

There's already a big topic on this. tongue.gif

Although, this is asking more about the feasibility of this game working for a teenager. As a 22 year-old myself, I bought my DS specificaly for pokemon. I discovered more it could do after the fact.

Moreover, unless you're gonna make the pokename jokes anyways, there's not much more material than that to be immature about.

It's a great RPG. I recommend it for DS.
