When I was breeding a black and a wonderful yellow chocobo, I got a chocobo that couldn't even cross the ocean, let alone cross a river.

I'm not sure if I got a gold or yellow chocobo. I think I bred it with a female black one and a male yellow one, both S rank.

Did I perhaps do something wrong?

Help would be appreciated. Thanks!

You might have just ended up with a yellow chocobo - it's not a 100% chance, and you'll be able to tell the difference once you get a gold one. You seem to have all the pieces in place, so just cross your fingers and try again.
