I've heard a lot of people excited about the potential for a FF7 remake, which to my knowledge isn't going to happen. I've also heard a lot of people complain about the Compilation of FF7 ruining the game.

So I was wondering, in your opinion would it have been a better move for Sqaure to simply remake FF7 with better graphics and maybe add in a little extra or is it better the way they went with pursuing the compilation of ff7. Should they have done both? Should they have done neither and just left the game the way it was?

Curious to see what everyone has to say about this. Me, I would have rather saw a remake than the compilation.

At this point, I'd rather see a remake. I mean, yeah, the compilation is good, but frankly, I'm a little tired of the whole thing. And on that note, the other game's remakes were excellent, so I'd prefer that. However, I hope they make it as one of the last titles on the PS2 rather than the PS3, mainly because I don't want to shell out $400+ for a PS3.

I had decided not to buy PS3, but if FFVII remake comes I will buy it.

I'd rather they just put FFVII, with improved dialogue
Possible spoilers: highlight to view

in together with a bundle; FFIV, FFV, FFVI, FFVII, FFVIII, FFIX,
all on one disk. and sell it for the ps3 at $60.

O and FFVII works on a PS3 as is, the only difference is HD will show certain layers that should be transparent. only happens during battle, with summons. and when an animation loads while the fingerpointer is on the screen.
Basically you see a box around the hand, and when you summon bahamut you see a box around him when he dives. and the blue layer. frizzles when a battle ends.

all loading times are lightning quick too. breeding chocobos is much easier on a ps3.

but like I said I'd prefer a compilation of FFIV-FFIX.

definately a remake. can you imagine seeing bahamut zero in full HD with ps3 graphics? that'd be awesomeness unparralelled!

deserves a remake? that already happened. anyway, story wise i like the compilation, gameplay wise, not so much. i did like dirge, AC, and really want crisis core, but its getting a little much...i would like to see a remake of it though

I would rather have a compilation, including All the FF games (FF1- FFXII) on one or two discs for £40

God knows that would be the best damn package ever

I want a remake. It could definately use better graphics and translation. And I agree with the advocate thing. Clone is really an improper term

I'd definitely rather just have a remake, but they've sorta changed Cloud and Aerith's personalities since the game came out and I'm afraid they'll translate that into the remake. To me Cloud was actually a go getter in the game who spoke his mind and didn't take any crap from anyone, but in everything else they make him act like Squall. And Aerith was kinda crazy and flirtacious but now they make her out to be a holy angel or something. I'm sure they'll tone the language down a lot too, and that won't be any fun sad.gif

Yea i'm gonna have to agree on that, Cloud's char has changed over the years, from kick ass to minor kick ass with a spice of whine. not worse than squall though, plus since the release of Crisis core, a few changes are gonna have to be made.

all in all i'm pretty sure there's gonna be a remake, but not for another 5 or 6 years, by then the craze will have died down, there's only so many side stories you can do, no one is really interested in seeing Red XIII being in a new game that solely stars him.

I'd rather see a remake,
just a remake. :3

To tell you the truth,
I'm tired of all the spin-offs/sequels/ect. it spawned.
Sure,
it was a great game, but...
It's just too much attention, me thinks...

well you have to give it to them for being so creative with spin off's i just don't understand why it's so hyped. it's a great game, but so was VI and IV i don't see these being redone into 500 diferent games and a movie.
