Anyone else think this let down Squeenix??

I rented it for a week and ttook it back an hour after starting it. It is shockingly bad, with a very poor control system and is a disgrace to the FF name. The battles are generic, and the game is just like one big bathroom break. The game is horribly paced. One thing which manages not to make it the worst game of all time is the fact you can customise your weaponry, and it makes good uses of the final fanatsy canon.

I have never felt that cut scenes could ruin an FF game, but in dirge they ruin any sort of pace or flow that the game manages to gather. It had the chance to be a great game, but squeenix messed up the Pal and American releases. In the Japanese one his movements are slightly more realistic because he plods along at normal pace and doesnt have any of the matrix style moves.

Theres no doubt the story is fantastic, but the gameplay itself ruins it.

"and thats my two cents". Any thoughts?

I hated it also. The story was really good but the gameplay was just horrible for a third person shooter. Sad thing was I kept forcing myself to play the game because I knew it was a Final Fantasy game and Final Fantasy games never disapoint me. But this proved me wrong.

To me the gameplay was pretty good, even if it took a bit of getting used to (Mouse and Keyboard, PLEASE!). The story was something between a James Bond flick and a Resident Evil Game, which is worth playing by definition, if only for the laughs.

My cousin liked it. I've never played it but I want to. I've always liked games with great stories. I personally wish more games would focus on stories like FF games do. That's why I play FF games.

My favorite part of a videogame is the story, so i was really enjoyed being able to look into vincent's backstory. i also thought the gameplay was pretty fun, and the gun customization made up for there not being any other weapons.

I liked it, myself. It was challenging, and definitely worth the rental.

I liked it because the story was good, I love FF VII, and I consider bad controls a challenge (even though the controls weren't that bad)

Cloud and the others make a cameo appearance ('cept Yuffie, who comes closer to playing a real role). Sephiroth doesn't make an appearance, though you won't be without a white-haired villain.

i loved the story and even though the gameplay way bad, the prospect of the gorgeous cut scenes and the chance to use his limit like that made it highly enjoyable. i loved revisiting the old places after i gave 7 back to my friend, and the parts with yuffie are joke even though shes rate grim.

The story is good, I mean c'mon is FF VII...

Now the gameplay, is not bad, but is not good. Dirge of Cerberus is just an average game, and if you, like some other members on top of us think they are in to play Call of Duty 4 mixed with God of War then they are sadly mistaken.

Dirge of Cerberus survived thanks to nostalgia's sake and the sweet graphics. There was never any high expectations with the game so I dont know what the big deal is, at leats it wasn't an "Ergheiz", swoosh!

It takes 10 hours to beat the game, so he who played for two hours didn't give the game a chance.

i actually kinda liked Erghiez.. It wasnt anything special, but it was fun to play a fighting game with FF7 characters.
