So what Dragon Quest games do you enjoy? I've been playing Dragon Quest V alot and its alot of fun. I also beat the SNES version of DQ1 and got somewhat far in DQ2.

Im really enjoying Dragon Quest V so far, but Im stuck. I just got the Water Ring, and now I need to talk to the father of the bride in Salabona. But the maid at the father's mansion wont move out of the way to the door. Is there any special thing I need to do to trigger this?

I fear that I may have somehow messed up my game (I didnt take Bianca into the cave with the Water Ring, and she apparently has some dialog in there), so I'm tempted see if I can hack the game so that she's one space to the left/right.

Edit
Problem fixed.

I'm not sure exactly what you're doing wrong, but I'm pretty sure you need Bianca around for the next scene. Go up to her village and try to get her to tag along and then try again. It's been awhile since I've played through DQ V, but I know for a fact that you need Bianca in your group to finish the stuff at Salabona.

No, because you have to have Bianca to get into the Water cave in the first place. It turns out that the reason was because the Water Ring was with a monster, and Tobio needed to be holding it.

I guess this topic can be about what you think about Dragon Quest V, or Dragon Quest in general now.

Well, OK then. My favorite DQ games (not Dairy Queen games, the other DQ...) are IV, V, and VIII. The three upcoming DQ remakes as well as DQ IX (all on the DS) have me very excited.

PS: play Rare Entries!

EDIT: also, my Hero is always named either Mike, Hector, or Eltrio, depending on my mood and how many spaces I have to work with.

Yeah, I've heard great things about Dragon Quest 8, but alas, I have no PS2

I've only been able to play the first 3 dragon quest games (the gbc remakes, to be exact) but they were some of my first rpg's ever, I still play dq3 once a year smile.gif Eventually I'll play the newer games, although, I bought a DS mainly for DQ IX ^^

I guess the question is, what DQ games don't I like... which is none. But I guess my favorite is either 3,4,5,6,7, or 8. And the Monster games.

I played one of the older ones (back when it was Dragon Warrior) but don't remember much. Now Dragon Quest VIII I have and let me tell you, it is phenomenol. One of my top five all time games. I'd say its enough to go out and get an old PS2 for.

I know I've mentioned this in other threads, but the three DQ remakes for the DS have been given English titles: Dragon Quest IV: Chapters of the Chosen, Dragon Quest V: Hand of the Heavenly Bride, and Dragon Quest VI: Realms of Reverie. Check these out:

Honestly, the most exciting part of it for me is that I'll finally be able to control all four characters in chapter 5 of DQ IV and use a party of four characters instead of three in DQ V. Whee.
