So I got a new head done recently and boy howdy was it a pain in the arse! Based off'n this dude:
![]() And let me tell you, he is not conducive to 3D. This version would be my...sixth attempt I believe in a series of attempts that spanned...I'd say three years now. I actually ended up having to take another face I'd already modeled and tweak it in order to fit his decidedly unorthodox design. ![]() This post has been edited by Narratorway on 23rd January 2008 06:41 Attached Image ![]() -------------------- |

Hmm. Ronin might be right. I can't really get a judge of his face from the supplied pic. Its a nice model, but it doesn't seem too much like the reference pic.
But then again you probably have a solid idea of what the character looks like under his hat, while the rest of us don't. -------------------- -- You're Gonna Carry That Weight -- |

Yer never meant to see his eyes actually. He always has that hat on. That's not the only picture I have of him mind you:
![]() And there's plenty more drawings I've made of him besides those. Trust me, I have this guy figured for design. The eyes were never the problem, they only reason they are even there in that picture attachment is because the model I tweaked in order to get his shape had eyes and they provide a reference point. No...the problem with him is his mouth and jawline which I could never get to behave at all angles in 3D. I can understand the difficulty in seeing the character I drew in the picture I've shown. After all, half his face is covered in hat. I figure once I get the hat modeled and on him, it'll come together much better. -------------------- |

Well, actually my post was more of a joke. I already knew he was your character and all. The model looks good by the way. Maybe it doesn't look right because he doesn't have a hat...?

Will he smile? Will he?

The mouth and jaw do seem like something that would be very difficult to do in 3D. The lack of the hat was throwing me off, but I'm seeing the resemblance to your drawing now.
Now you just need to give the model that curved smile. Will be interesting to see how that turns out as I can't seem to get a good image of what it would look like in my head. -------------------- -- You're Gonna Carry That Weight -- |
