Once you beat a boss in the extra dungeon on the moon, what exactly do the grimoires (LD, LA, etc) do, and are they a one time use?

PS: sorry for the confusing title...i didnt realize there was a game by that name Grim Grimoire, so i changed it a bit smile.gif

To be a little more specific...

Haven't played it in a while, but I believe that each grimoire does do a kind of 'super summon' on most enemies. But on the last boss of the Lunar Cave (the secret dungeon post game), they inflict some sort of status or otherwise disable with 100% accuracy, making the fight a total snap.

You can get another copy of a grimoire after you use it by beating it's trial again. Edge's for Ifrit, Edward for Shiva, Rosa for Asura, etc...

Each Grimoire does max damage against any and all opponents, and the Lunar Dragon obtained from Rydia's trial will also add the Image status to all party members. And using them against the final secret boss does not guarantee to inflict a status effect, but it's pretty likely.
