Is Jumping really usefull at all.  I remember trying it once and I thought wow!  My guy did 2 more damage but took like three more turns to do it.  I was just wondering If people have found ways (which I am sure they have) that makes Jump useful.

DragoonBoots/Dragon Horn/Stunner versus Chupon.

This is my oldest custom strategy, concocted weeks after getting the game in 1994.  People are still surprised sometimes when I mention it.

I never thought that jumping wasn't so useful (unless I use Palidor) until I heard that strategy.  I guess you can add me to the list of people who are surprised at that tactic.

Maybe I'm just not seeing it, but what's the purpose of this strategy?  And when do you use it on Chupon?

In the Collosseum.  The point is to not only evade Sneeze (setting up before Chupon's attack isn't as rare as getting the first strike, making Jump the perfect alternative to Genji Glove/Offering), but to get multiple hits out of Jump, and most importantly, Stop Chupon so his strikes are obscenely limited.

It's usefull when the characters are low on HP. It's like the final way out. If all the characters in your party is near death and you don't have any cure spells or potions or anything like that. Then let the others fight until they die and let the character with the Jump command jump away, and then if you are lucky, he'll come down and kill the foe so you survive the battle with at least one guy.

Or, if just that guy is low on HP, you can use jump to make him survive the fight as well.

First time I've heard of this...
Then again, not many people around me play FF6 (like, nobody)...
I'll definetly try this out.

Thanks ZED!
