So, let's see...what's the case this year?
Big East: Of course, Rutgers, West Virginia, and Louisville are gonna be on top again. Everyone loves Louisville...but me. I have faith that Rutgers is gonna do it this year, but West Virginia could as well. Big East football is actually existant, nonbelievers. ACC: Okay. THIS is the nonexistant conference. It's like Virginia Tech...and everyone else. Hell, Maryland is picked to go to the Peach Bowl this year. Maryland!!! Of course I'd love for the Terps to do well. SEC: As usual, this is the conference to beat. And it's anyone's game. Florida and LSU are the early picks, but I'm gonna go with Georgia, a really sexy pick. Now before you count them out, they ended last year knocking off three ranked teams in a row: Auburn, Georgia Tech, and Virginia Tech. Stafford is gonna have a breakthrough year. Big Ten: ![]() I certainly hope this is the case. And I REALLY want it to happen. But I'm picking Wisconsin this year. Mainly because I want to be conservative and not just say Michigan is gonna blow everyone away. The Big Ten can be as tough as the SEC sometimes. I'm praying Michigan can pull it off, especially because Wisconsin lost its QB. And Michigan's D really isn't as bad as you think because having Ron English on board is better than just having a bunch of thrown together all stars. Little 12 This should just be dubbed "The Texas-Oklahoma conference." Since these are the only two teams worth giving a damn for in the entire conference. One of them will win and the rest of the hicky wannabe football schools will probably fight to see who's the worst team. Although I hope Nebraska beats a team I'm gonna talk about in a very short while... Pac-10 As usual, the University of Spoiled Children-California campus is the media darling, and once again is claimed the best team ever to exist in all of history. Sounds like they're gonna win the national title right? WRONG! They'll win their crappy conference undefeated, but let's hope Nebraska can shut them up. Probably the only time I'll ever be rooting for Nebraska. I still want Cal to win this one, but UCLA is fine too. Everybody else Boise State and TCU are where it's at this year. I think Boise State will do it again, because TCU has a tough game against Texas. The way it will turn out: Rose Bowl: Wisconsin vs. Rutgers Fiesta Bowl: Texas vs. Boise State Sugar Bowl: LSU vs. Michigan Orange Bowl: Virginia Tech vs. West Virginia National title game: Georgia vs. USC National champion: Georgia (I'm feeling quite sexy this year) -CSM -------------------- The NEW Final Fantasy Wiki! Big East:
I'm pulling for Rutgers, but i think that West Virginia will come out on top. ACC: As already said, there isn't very much there... and Virginia Tech will win out. SEC: Florida is always a competitor it seems, but i think that LSU has got more going for them. Big Ten: Toughest division in football, right here, especially seeing as they share bowl games with the best independant team, which is always Notre Dame (not that hot this year, however). I like Wisconsin, they have a lot of their team coming back, even though they are missing their biggest names of last year. I'm gonna say that Michigan, with much of their team AND their big names of last year back, will lead the Big Ten. The "Texas Oklahoma Conference" (haha i like that a lot) the new-found name speaks for itself, though neither of them will go anywhere spectacular. texas will be big again this year (nothing like the last two, however), and all the texas fans around me who have never even been to texas will be big headed again this year. PAC 10, O hated league of evil football: USC, omg! no, shut up, stupid bandwagon-er. can't stand the trojans, and ND almost had em beat two years ago ![]() Independants Ok, well there is only one independant worthy of mention. NOTRE DAME! course, they got a painfully young team this year, and i don't see them getting anywhere, but GO IRISH!!! Now im not too good with the bowl games and who plays who, so ill number em off instead. 1 Michigan 2 USC 3 LSU 4 West Virginia 5 Virginia Tech 6 UCLA 7 Wisconsin 8 Texas 9 Rutgers 10 Florida (hell, why not? they seem to sneak in every year) -------------------- Currently Playing : Final Fantasy V Most Recently Beat : Elder Scrolls: Skyrim Favorite Game : Final Fantasy X The newest CoNcast is up! I hope to GOD U$C loses some games this year; it would give Michigan a boost to the title game. This might just be the only year I root for the Irish over the Trojans for Michigan's sake. N/A if Oregon beats U$C.
Navy is actually picked to be the top independent this year. Which is good, because it makes Rutgers's schedule look a little more respectable (it sucks). -CSM This post has been edited by Crazyswordsman on 28th August 2007 20:04 -------------------- The NEW Final Fantasy Wiki! Join us! |

Well, this looks to be an interesting season my Fighting Irish, as they must reload after losing players at various positions, the secondary should improve and LB unit looks to good.

Quote Well, this looks to be an interesting season my Fighting Irish, as they must reload after losing players at various positions, the secondary should improve and LB unit looks to good. on the bright side, it'll give our younger guys extra reps. (*quite excited, since im going to the opener this week!*) Quote I hope to GOD U$C loses some games this year; it would give Michigan a boost to the title game. and it will keep USC out of it. Navy is usually a tough oponent either way, but if they're picked to do well this year it should make UND have to fight them hard to keep the streak alive. I love how the media pretty much automatically declares Pete Carroll the best at everything before the season even starts. And every year it's Pete Carroll and the ND quarterback (sorry, ND fans. If you can believe it, I hate ND and USC for the same reasons) being hailed as a saint or something. I like it better when these people who don't parade themselves around get into the spotlight after they play well. -CSM

And in the biggest rivalry game of the season for both teams? Don't disrespect my alma mater just because they're not your precious Michigan. ![]() And beyond that, Florida will not be in the national title race this year. Thibault is too young and inexperienced, regardless of the fact that he's a crazy physical specimen. I hate to say it, but Florida got their ring last year, and it won't be back to back. And as a final note, I will wait anxiously, like I do every year, for Notre Dame to lose so their fans will first find excuses and then finally just shut up. I'm pulling for Alabama to win today, Seems like this coach knows what he's doing, and plus He quit the NFL to come back to College football. Ah, I remember when they announced that he was coming to alabama, t'was all over the news.
I'm also pulling for Auburn for there game as well.. I'm a bama fan, but i pull for the rival team, unless they go against Bama ![]() This post has been edited by Shinrin on 1st September 2007 15:08 -------------------- |

Quote (Rangers51 @ 1st September 2007 06:55) UND football and Cubs baseball, it's a storied tradition! Hey now, game and half lead over here ![]() Looking forward to Cal-Tennessee game tonight. I love the early good college football game. It gets annoying to watch teams like Louisville beat teams like Murray State 73-10 over and over again. (Although App State and ECU are showing some signs of life in the 1st quarter against UM and VT, respectively.) It's going to be interesting to see what Illinois does with all that talent. Zook's proven himself a great recruiter, but not a great game coach. He's going to have to prove the doubters wrong this year, or watch as that label gets even more glued to him. My Northwestern Wildcats are going to go...probably 4-8 this year. Maybe 5-7 if they can beat Indiana. Randy Walker's death was such a blow to that program, it's going to take a long time to recover. I sort of half-heartedly root for Michigan, too, since my sister goes there. But I don't go around with Hail to the Victors as a ringtone or anything. Edit App State 34-Michigan 32. Better luck next year? Well, UVA's going to be decent at best and disappointing at worst this year.... I still don't think Mike Groh is an NCAA-worthy offensive coordinator, even if his dad is an awesome head coach. We're losing our away game at Wyoming at the moment, but hopefully I can eventually blame that one on jetlag or something. I'll tentatively predict UVA to go 7-5 this year, barely winning the ACC's ill-deserved last bowl bid.
And wow, ROFL at Michigan. I almost always love watching Big Ten teams lose, and this is definitely one of those occasions. One of my cousins recently graduated from App. State, and she's been telephoning our whole extended family for the past hour or so. Good times. -------------------- |

Well My Irish are 0-2 now, with Michigan giving up 600 yards to Oregon in a 39-7 loss, ND might have a chance with Michigan's Chad Henne out with an injury.
The ND-PSU game was alot closer than it looked, poor officaiting was one thing that messed things up, and not to mention they were playing in 1 of 5 of the hardest stadiums in college football (examples include USC's The Coliusem and LSU's Tiger Stadium) Im gonna go and say that ND wins the next 3 games and 1 of the 3 with UCLA, BC, and USC. ND will beat all of there final 4 opponents and finish 8-4 regular season. The ND offense will find the endzone in the game against Michigan and win that game. I Also think that USC will lose to Nebraska this coming weekend as well. |

i can't remember a worse UND team than this one... our defense isn't too bad, but unfortunately they spend the entire game trying to get the offense the ball back. jimmy clausen: get better fast. or even better: O line: learn to play O line. JC can't pass if the entire d line gets through every play.
but how about michigan? they actually pay a div 1 AA team to come play them at home and get beat. man oh man. and then oregon as well. so this 0-2 loosers matchup will be interesting. UND vs. Michigan. Quote Im gonna go and say that ND wins the next 3 games and 1 of the 3 with UCLA, BC, and USC. ND will beat all of there final 4 opponents and finish 8-4 regular season. i really hope so, but i don't think our offense can get it going. unfortunately, i can't see UND being much better than 6-6. -------------------- Currently Playing : Final Fantasy V Most Recently Beat : Elder Scrolls: Skyrim Favorite Game : Final Fantasy X The newest CoNcast is up! If ND can pull off a decent defensive stand against Michigan this weekend, then they are assured victory. Chad Henne is still sidelined with his unannounced injury.**
**Read: his fake injury that is being used to save Carr's job currently. "Not my fault they lost, Henne is hurt.* ::wink wink:: So yeah... how about them Buckeyes? Mallett is the best QB in the recruiting class. He has a much better arm and shows much more pocket presence than Clausen, who's only upshot on Mallett is his mobility. Both QBs will be good, but Mallett will be better.
Oh and Louisville got upset! Let's hope this does something good for Rutgers. If Notre Lame knows what's best for them, they need to chuck Cheeseburger Charlie. -CSM This post has been edited by Crazyswordsman on 16th September 2007 19:13 -------------------- The NEW Final Fantasy Wiki! Join us! |

I really hope that this week will end every "Notre Dame can still pull it out!!!!" type post this season. They're 0-3, and given the opening of their season, they honestly might want to count themselves lucky if they have a win before November.
Not that Michigan has much to cheer about, either. About all they have going for them is that they're still undefeated in the Big Ten. Been a long time since my alma mater had an equal record to Michigan three games into the season. oh man, the ACC is so bad this year. Not only are we leading the Coastal division, but Miami needed a fourth-quarter comeback to beat Duke. In FOOTBALL. 0-5, so close last Saturday...... On a side note: What Happened Oklahoma???? Drop 50+ points for the first 4 games, then lose to Colorado of all teams, the Big 12 doormat.
