That was amazing. I don't know who to facepalm over harder, Fox News or Anonymous.

Lessee, here, Melanierawn.com, cause she's an amazing author, and Shiftedlands.com, cause I play the LARP, so I have to keep up with rules changes and whatnot, plus I chat as my character in our guild boards.

Besides CoN, the only other forum I frequent and post in is Spellhold Studios. The actual site hosts a number of fan-made mods for a few computer RPGs, especially the Baldur's Gate series. The forums there seem to be more permissive than those in CoN, but because the members there are just as good as (if not more so than) those in CoN, things rarely got out of hand. Recently, the site also started what is now a bi-weekly BG fanart challenge, in which I participate regularly. I also post and occasionally show some of my other drawings in the creations forum, too.

There are many other similar sites out there (the BG modding community is HUGE, folks) and I often visit some of their forums, too, to read up on news and discussions about mods I'm interested in, but I rarely post in them.

I'm new to the forum world: CoN is my first, and i only joined here at the beginning of the summer. Not part of any other forums, though if i ever find one that is relatively small, and possibly without a black background and poor color scheming that blinds me. (if there is such a thing).

Hmm... Other forums, eh?

Essential Magic - A forum for discussing Magic: The Gathering. Rules questions, cards of your own design, there's a section for everything.

Legends of Fantasy - My (currently slumped) crossover RPG board that pits any character the players want to make against each other, or against whatever baddie I decide to throw at them.

Eastern Fringe Forums - Primarily dedicated to Necromunda, EFF also features a number of other tabletop wargames.

Gaia Online - The ability to "roll dice" when making posts is quite useful for RPGs.

Runescape - I play the game, so I use the forums to buy and sell stuff. It makes making gold coins far, far easier.

Retaking Chi-Town - Just including this one for the sake of completeness. This forum is another one I created, and is dedicated solely to a RIFTS RPG campaign a friend of mine asked me to run.

I probably still have an EZBoard account somewhere, but I haven't made use of it in a really long time, so I won't bother listing those forums.

Apart from CoN, the only other forum I visit regularly is Gaia Online. Basically, I either buy/sell items in the marketplace, or chat to people. Although these days, I don't visit it as often as I would like.
I also hang around certain GameFAQs boards, depending on the game I'm playing or interested in, but I've never actually registered. I just lurk. ph34r.gif

As for other boards... I just can't seem to stay at certain boards for that long.

GaiaOnline - I'm most active there. I participate in some pretty nice guilds. Stay away from the main forums though, they're infested with uh . . . *thinks of something not so mean to say* obnoxious folks.

Anime Weekend Atlanta forums - I'm on staff for the con so I check the message boards every so often.

YouTube - Okay, not really a forum, not in the "BBS system" sense anyways, but I post a lot of comments there and occasionally I'll go back and forth with other users.

Firstly, I check CoN quite a bit. I just don't post that much. Josh knows that though. biggrin.gif The five other places you'll usually find me at are:

Heroes of Ivalice - I'm mostly a Web Admin now. I used to be the Head Game Admin but I don't have much online time anymore, and being a staff member at Heroes of Ivalice is like having a full time job. It's really been cool to see the site grow so much. And hey, it's an affiliate to CoN so you can't go wrong. thumbup.gif

Poxnora - I'm just an average user here. I'm fairly active on this board (check it daily), especially for the Savage Tundra faction. If you're a fan of CCGs and you like tactics/strategy games, then you might get addicted to this too.

Ultinomicon - This is a graphic novel set in the Warhammer 40K universe. I'm the lead editor for Chapter 2 of Immortal Enemies, and also will preside over editing for Chapters 3 and 4. The boards and the blog don't see much attention, but I check there about once or twice a week. Brun's artwork is stunning and it's an honor to work with him.

Flashback Humor - While it is supposed to be a webcomic, Jon has had many delays (school, moving to Japan, moving back to the USA, etc.) so the boards are mostly discussing politics, gaming, and general craziness.

SimRTK - I used to be on staff here, but like my reasoning for Heroes of Ivalice, I don't have the time to devote to overseeing 1000+ players on MBORPGs anymore.

I used to be a regular member on Serebii.net, and before that, Advent Children.net, with different account names on both. Honestly though, I just stopped, after some point what kept me posting at those places just died.

FFIVDS looks awesome, right? Especially the character scans. I mean, look at that CGI scan of Yang. You see it and you just think...badass. And then you look at his polka-dot pants, likely stolen from a Dr. Seuss book. And then you just...shiver.

One of my college friends is an admin (or maybe just a moderator?) at adventchildren.net, but the brief time I spent there only made me gag for the same reasons that the Tales Of forums and the stoptazmo forums make me gag. I tried frequenting at both of those places, but I've since given up on them.

I'm still posting in pretty much the same places as before (here, gfaqs, devils-lair, and uvagamers), plus apforums.net for when I feel like talking about anime and manga, particularly OP.

I revive this topic!

Anyway, there are only three forums that you'd be likely to find me on.

CoN. Of course! Probably my fave.

RebirthRO. com. There are a lot of idiots there, but I can manage to have some decent conversations.

gamerrefuge.forumotion.com. A very new forum started by a member of RebirthRO who wanted a place to talk about games in general in. I'm trying to help him get it going.

I'm not a huge forum person, but every now and then it's nice to talk with the outside world.

I know I've already done this somewhere round here at least once, but I'll do 'nother go round as it was done many a year ago an...well, things change.

The Drawing Board
Place I frequent most often aside from here. Art forum with a heavy emphasis on comic art. They do monthly jam sessions that keep me drawing.

Avatarspirit.net Forums
I am an unabashed fan of this show! I signed up to this forum to show off my Avatar fanart and got semi-swept up in the fandom sillyness. I ended up with a fanart thread that went on for a good sixteen pages. This place had me pounding out sketches on a damn near daily basis, all of 'em gag sketches of some form or another. It was a blast, till I got banned. dry.gif Turns out there are forums even more tight-assed than here! tongue.gif

Count Your Sheep
Beautiful webcomic that quickly became my favorite. As is the majority of the cases with forums like these, I signed up to post fanart.

Collected Curios
This guy makes hilarious artwork that's also quite good. See prev.

FFVI 3D Forums
If yer a regular at the 'My Creations' forum, you may have noticed a while back a sizable thread from a guy making a 3D remake of FFVI. He asked me to join the team, and we communicate largely through this forum. Currently we're going through some downtime for various reasons.

I recently started posting on gamefaqs, mostly on the FFVIII board. I lurked there for like a month before I actually joined.

--------------------
FF games completed: I (psp), II (psp), III (DS), IV (psp), V (GBA), VI (GBA), VII, VIII, IX, X, XI: Nations-Rhapsodies of Vana'diel, XII, XIII, XIV, XV.
Spin-offs: FFIV: Interlude & The After Years, Crisis Core: FFVII, X-2, XIII-2, Lightning Returns, Type-0 HD, Dissidia, Dissidia 012, and Tactics (original & WotL).
Enjoyed them all.

I should have posted in this thread back when I actually went more places; now, it's really just here and three or four private forums related to other projects I participate in. I gave up on FF Gurus months ago when I realized that absolutely nobody cared about any part of it any more, and I don't have time for the DA forums these days because they're just such a failure to use.

I will say that I have no intention sticking around a forum that uses word balloons for a user's post. biggrin.gif

Hmm, well, sometimes I'll browse the Newgrounds.com art forum, but I haven't lately. Too many crude jokes/drawings/comments there sometimes.

I used to go to Eyes on FF every now and then too, but have been trying to cut back, as people in the "Eyes on Each Other" section get a little annoying.

Really, this forum is my favorite one, even though it's slow sometimes. It's well constructed, attracts people who seem to usually put a good amount of thought and purpose into their postings, and the fanart section is awesome. It's a good community.

Occasionally, I browse through emptyflower.net too. A lot of those guys are pretty cool, and there's a lot of info about the current Chinese Martial Arts communty culture there and tips on training and stuff. Again, a lot of thought goes into a lot of their posts, which is what I like about them.

The World Jianshu League also has a nice forum with lots of training info, though it's been pretty dead lately.

I don't go to forums as much as I used to anymore, 'cause they take up a lot of time, but I always pop in here to check up on things.

I used to do a few forums in my hay day ( rolleyes-straight.gif ) I even used to help moderate something called www.gamesforum.com without knowing how to do anything. That was laugh.

Anything else i've been in has either shut down or i've quit because I use my computer so little now - because I hate it so much.

The only forums that I'm really active on is CoN and a Swedish Fire Emblem forum, although there is a Swedish Nintendo Forum that I go to occasionally. Also, I lurk on some gamefaqs boards, a little bit like laszlow.

EDIT: Also, I used to hang out at Serebiiforums for quite some time. But after most of my friends left, I left too. Also, most people acted like idiots over there.

Wow, how have I never posted here before. Have I been gone for THAT long, because I know I've posted in a "what other forums do you frequent" thread before. And given the recent (as in within the past few years) laxening of the "you have to search the fora to see if people have posted about that before" rule (which I'm actually in favor of), I'm a bit too lazy to actually search right now.

Anyway, I'm currently most active as a poster on the TV Tropes fora. I'm also active on the Tale of the Cave fora, which is attached to the Tale of the Cave webcomic.

And I still post here sometimes. I've mostly abandoned the Moogle Cafe and the Mega Man PC Website Forums, even though I used to be active in both of them. And I post to the xkcd fora occasionally to comment on a specific comic, but not much else.
