I saw a guitar hero II clip, and a guy was playing that exact song exactally the same way.

This is just one more reason why YTMND is awesome.
Great find. And I support anyone's idea of remixing this and putting it into the game. Although I don't know of a way substituting music in an SNES or GBA ROM, although I guess it's theoretically possible to program an emulator-only ROM such that it'll specifically tell the emulator to go find some music file elsewhere on the local computer and play that when a certain event is triggered. Sounds just like good the old Black Mages. Infact, this song rocks even harder than the boss theme song for FFVII, which is pretty sweet.
Don't know what the name of the band the guitarist is performing with, but it's not that important. Anyway, that does sound really cool and it should be put into a hack just to get my motivation to play FFVI again. The only thing I didn't like about the song was the "harp" in the very beginning.. It just sounded really crappy. |

Awesome track, having more tracks like these for Bossfights in final fantasy games would just be plain awesome! Imagine the tension it could create...
Reminded me of an old thread made way back, with another version of this awesome track... They are very similar, though i prefer the version Fighter-Douken found. I love the Ultros pic! Only a true Final Fantasy VI geek would bother putting that together.  The Decisive Battle is one of my favorite tracks. :3 More soundtrack/remix stuff: KURIKINTON FOX - Final Fantasy VI The Decisive Battle - At first I thought this was fake but I've come to the conclusion that the video is merely out of sync with the audio because his other videos look quite convincing. OCRemix - FFVI page - I like a lot of the remixes here but the one for The Decisive Battle is a little weird. I think this rock version of Terra's Theme remix is interesting . :3 -------------------- The FF6*10 webring celebrates FF6's tenth anniversary with fanart (japanese). |

This version of the FFVI boss battle became the most played song on my iPod in like, one week. That's right, I listened to it 198 times in one week! Crazy huh.

SNES maybe, but PSX?
Although the SNES did get away with doing some crazy stuff by swapping instrument banks around. Just look at Tales of Phantasia - they got an actual song with lyrics to play. The sound quality, it goes without saying, would've suffered a bit in the process if they did that, though. I searched "FFVI Decisive Battle" on YouTube and found this. It's the same version,and it's the whole thing, for those of you who are to lazy download it...like me.
But anyways, I chuckled when I saw the pic. Awesome link. -------------------- FFIVDS looks awesome, right? Especially the character scans. I mean, look at that CGI scan of Yang. You see it and you just think...badass. And then you look at his polka-dot pants, likely stolen from a Dr. Seuss book. And then you just...shiver. |

I just saw this really weird sprite movie and this is the music that plays all through the third part! It's not really FFVI related otherwise but I was practically rolling on the floor while watching the video. It's one of the weirdest things I've ever seen!
