Well, peeps, it's getting close to that wonderful time of year again. Due to our previous commissioner's absence this past year, I have decided to get the ball rolling this year and set up CoN's annual Fantasy Football league. This is open to anyone and everyone that wants to join, all we ask is that if you do sign up, please do so with the intention of actually playing throughout most/all of the season. Nothing sucks more that having a league where 1/4 of the team owners NEVER show up. It makes things less fun for the active members and reflects negatively on yourself. We don't want that, now do we?

Right now I have it set up with a max of 14 teams and a live draft for August 26th at 9:30pm Central time. Live drafts can be a lot of fun, but don't worry if you can't make it, you can set up your preferred draft order and Yahoo will follow it to the best of it's abilities.

The rules are pretty much the same as last year, with these few changes:
*We're going back to the 2 WR and RB and 1 WR/RB setup that we used prior to last year
*There is now a small point bonus for yardage gained. Passing yards > 300, receiving yards > 150, and rushing yards > 150 will get a 2 point bonus.

There's plenty of time to make any changes to the rules if so desired.

Feel free to ask questions about the league. It really is simple to play and doesn't require much time out of your life. Maybe like 5 minutes a week if you aren't overly enthusiastic about it.

Good call on the scoring system, Hanyou. I like that it's more weighted on yards then touchdowns.

I understood it's a game of some sort, with multiple players competing - and it has something to do with football, but i kinda lost track there

and ganolink, its fantasy football. im guessing you haven't done it before. in extreme basics, each person picks a team of actual football players. then, depending on how well your team does, you get points. most points wins, of course. as i said though, this is a basic definition.

Should there be another 2 point bonus if another milestone is reached? Like say, 400 yards passing and 200 yards rushing/receiving? Or do you think that would be too much?

Personally to me, It wouldn't matter. I'd say go for it if you want, if we do extra we should get more for it, so yeah.

i would say yes. in past leagues i have had milestone bonuses.

Okay, but there was a goat!

Fourteen teams is an amazing compared to the seven we had last year. I hate asking again just please, PLEASE be sure you have time to do it. Last year was a disappointment with two people who just stopped caring.

I suggest sending out CoN PMs to people you've noticed haven't been active in a while. A whole neighborhood watch kinda thing, except for uh, football.

Uh Hanyou, is it to late to drop out of The CoN League?

You can drop out at any time before the draft. Once the draft starts, your team is locked into the league.

So if you do want to back out of the league, please do so before Aug 26th. No worries about leaving, in fact, if you think you won't be able to participate fairly regularly, then we would much prefer you to back out now.
