What level should your party be at when trying to defeat Zeromus. I have Cecil at 57, Kain at 53, Edge at 52, Rosa at 61, and Rydia at 53. I did some good damage to Zeromus until he killed all my guys. I leveled up some more and then he somehow he totally wiped me out really fast.

Some people can beat him with relatively low levels (the guy fails in this video, but not by much.) It's rarely ever a matter of levelling up in an RPG, but rather of working up a proper strategy within the bound of the game engine's capabilities.
That being said, you may as well give that video a look. The guy's party is much, much weaker than yours, and if you follow his strategy you should have no trouble beating him. my party was in the 60's, and i had no mages/healers. i had no difficulty defeating zeromus, so quickly he only had a few turns. as silverlance said, if you have a half decent strategy you should have no trouble.

I beat Zeromus at lvl 70. I've gotta try and beat him at a lower level.

Alright, so this is what you do:
Either you level like crazy so Rosa can overheal his damage. Another thing is having the white mage twin helping rosa, for lower level winning. Or learn to use kain's jump to avoid the damage ! -------------------- All those moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain. Broccoli to die. |

Quote (Ganolink @ 21st July 2007 16:36) Or learn to use kain's jump to avoid the damage ! Kain is uber-powerful with his Jump. You can literally beat anything at any level if you can time all of your jumps properly (though realistically speaking that means some mad skillz yo to pull off.) Ideally you should have Kain in the air as often as possible so if the Z-man uses some big doomsday attack, at least one character'll be alive to revive the others. Plus, Zeromus is a sitting duck if it's just Jumped-Kain and him. If you bothered to get the ultimate weapons in the Lunar Core for Edge and Cecil, they'll be doing very good damage to him. But then again Edge should be throwing various star-type weapons and other useful throwable weapons (spoon, anyone?) With Rydia, don't bother going for Meteo. It's flashy but takes too long to cast and is as good as Bahamut. If you don't have Bahamut, go find him. I think Flare may be a good alternative if you're summon-challenged, but I've never tried this. This leaves us Rosa, who can either do ok damage with White or be used defensively by casting Cure 4 on everyone each turn. It's your call, but you never know when you'll be hit by something uber-powerful in-between turns. That's how I always beat him. Just keep your health up (prioritize this - play it defensively) and your other characters should be able to do enough damage to end the battle in a dozen minutes. And don't forget this is the final battle - use your items. This is what you've been holding onto those elixirs for. -------------------- "Judge not a man by his thoughts and words, but by the quality and quantity of liquor in his possession and the likelyhood of him sharing." |

Also in the GBA remake go to the lunar ruins, i think that is what it is called. This will give a nice leveling up just get every ones best weapons pretty easy from their, also use yang with his best claw and plus he has the highest hp so you can survive most of his attacks. |

I can't remember what was the trigger, but he counterattacked something with Flare - you can reflect that.
I had Rydia Summonning Bahamut and Asura interchangeably, Cecil was berserk, Edge was berserk when he ran out of Hell Wind Shurikens, Kain did the Jumping and Rosa just blasted away with Cure 4. -------------------- "I fell off the mountain of words at around the 10,000ft mark. Are you talking about the dungeon where everyone has their own little side-quest? That only opens up after you beat the game, doesn't it? Or do you mean the Cave of Trials (I think that's the name) used to get good equipment for Yang, the Twins, Cid, and Edward? -------------------- "Judge not a man by his thoughts and words, but by the quality and quantity of liquor in his possession and the likelyhood of him sharing." |

Hi all! I'm kinda new here
I had my party around 55 and there were no serious problems beatin' Zeromus. But I also had all the best weapons and equip. Maybe that's the case? -------------------- Never imagine yourself not to be otherwise than what it might appear to others that what you were or might have been was not otherwise than what you had been would have appeared to them to be otherwise. |

Yep...Actually I used for Cecil and Rosa my name and my gf's...
But I got me,Rosa,Rhydia,Edward and Edge in my party,I keep on leveling up by fighting Dinozombies and Dragons(Apollo's harp kills them in an attack or two) yet at levels from 57 to 61 I can't kill him...I also tried to use Psycho Edward Glitch but the Black Hole scrambles it up... |

Please don't double-post, it's against the rules to do so and I don't think your second question is relevant to beating Zeromus as discussed in this thread. To answer it, though, unless they add it to the new DS version the answer is no.

Sorry but I have just one last question.
in the cutscene,Golbez and FuSoYa's Meteor was absorbed by Z. What will it happen if Rhydia uses Meteor on Z's starting form(the...er...blue mop.) Moderator Edit You were already told not to double post earlier in this thread. That didn't mean "don't double post unless you REALLY HAVE TO" or "don't double post unless you have ONE LAST QUESTION." It means DON'T DOUBLE POST. +20% to you. Why not try these things out yourself instead of multi-posting? It'll be a lot quicker than waiting on a response.

I just tried Zeromus with a party of level 60s and he absolutely destroyed me (on PS1 version). I remember beating him back when this game first came out, and I don't remember him being THAT hard.
Honestly, he just did Big Bang so much that there was no way for me to do anything, let alone heal. I think it was just bad luck, but we'll see. I plan on whoopin' him down today. If I lose again, I guess I'll just level some more, but I really hope it doesn't come to that. EDIT: Okay, I just beat him and here's how it went down. I made sure that I had my elixirs and throwing items at the top (2 Fumas, 1 Excalibur, 1 Avenger). I also made sure that Cure 4 was at the top of Rosa's magic, and that Rydia's Bahamut was at the top of her summoning magic - they both already were. As far as equipment, everyone was decked out in the top stuff that you get from The Lunar Core. Basically what ended up happening, is Rydia got off 1 Bahamut for about 9000 damage and Kain got off one jump for about half of that before they both died. Then I just kept Rosa spamming cure 4 (that's all she did the whole fight) while Cecil hit and Edge threw all of his stuff. When he ran out, I just had him hitting. He was doing around 3000 dmg, and Cecil was doing around 4000 or so. Eventually, Edge ended up dying, but that was no big deal. It's funny how Zeromus is actually easier to beat when it's just Rosa and Cecil. As long as you have Cecil use an Elixer on Rosa when the going gets tough (her hp or mp get low) and you make Rose use Cure 4 every time, you can't lose. Oh, and I did steal the Dark Matter; I got it on the first try. So yeah, the first time around I did have extremely bad luck. It was strange, it was like I was fighting a super speed version of Zeromus, because there was no way for me to keep up with his Big Bang spamming. Oh well, I win again.
