so many people want it though, and since it was such a successful game, eventually they will make a remake. i think its inevitable, just sooner or later.

if they wait longer, though, then squeenix will have the opportunity of directing it to completely new fans. it isn't exactly cheep to get ahold of a copy of FFVII, and if they re-vamp the graphics and get some voice acting, it will be even more appealing to everyone.

I wouldn't buy a remake of VII...sure, I really enjoyed the game, but no way am I buying a PS3 just for it, and besides, I'm fine with the PS version. To be honest, I don't like the way they're milking FFVII. None of the expansions (Can't think of a better word at the moment) were really necessary IMO. I thought AC sucked, and I thought having a mobile phone game was rather silly, and DoC wasn't too great in my eyes either, though I did enjoy Last Order, and I might get CC.

Bah, I'm ranting too much. But if they do remake VII, they should add a lot more than just some extra materia/booses/dungeons IMO. This is why I didn't get VA or VIA...I don't think it's worth the money just to have the same game with a couple extra features.

But then again, it would be a PS3 remake, so...nevermind. It would be totally redone anyway, which would be enough for most people.

FFIVDS looks awesome, right? Especially the character scans. I mean, look at that CGI scan of Yang. You see it and you just think...badass. And then you look at his polka-dot pants, likely stolen from a Dr. Seuss book. And then you just...shiver.

I'd love to see a remake done, although I'm not fond of voiceovers in the new Final Fantasies and definately not too happy about XII's battle system. As long as it stays true to the original in every way, I'd be plenty happy.

they talked about the re-release of FFVII for quite some time now, i believe it started like 2-3 years ago for the ps2, they kept putting it off and putting it off, and now they say its coming out for the ps3, well i dont believe it until i see it after all the times they have said it was coming out. but they had better give the characters fitting voices or its going to ruin the game

A FF7 remake for the PS3 does sound quite probable, not to mention tantalising, especially when Square is also in the process of updating the older Final Fantasies, and coming up with anniversary editions and such. It'll be really cool to see FF7 with updated graphics, apparently i read somewhere that when they played the opening cutscene, it was only to show off the PS3's capabilities, but i'll definitely support a remake.

there is absolutely no chance of a ff7 remake for the ps3 in my opinion. a project on that scale of detail and programing will take years to design and create, and seen as there are currently no plans what-so-ever by SE to remake the game i'd be amazed if it happened in the next decade.

FF7 remake for the ps6 in 2020

I'm definitely in for an FFVII remake. The tech demo got my hopes up and killed them right quickly. It is nice to envision the game looking like that though. I would really love to see a remake done. Not only a fresh spin on and amazing game, but to fix all the problems the original had: translation, glitches, overly easy difficulty curve, etc. I mean, the simple fact that your Magic Defense stat does nothing alone is a red flag in my mind. I'd like to know what debugger that slipped by.

I'd love a FFVII remake too, but, I doubt we are going to get one. As said, they are currently working on Final Fantasy XIII.

i can't remember who, but one of the developers behind the FFVII universe of games said, in 2006, that it would still continue for another decade. that leads me to believe that they will do a remake of FFVII for its 20 year aniversary. eventually, it is certain that squenix will make a remake, but i think that their 20-year will be a good time.

what we need is a rich as hell FF7 fan to fund all the production costs and have it re-released

I think that if they ever make a FF7 remake, it would be a great success. But I hope that they won't change the plot because it will ruin the game. Somebody said that "why do we have to buy the same game with better graphics?" Then why do we start the same game again and again. We know what will happen but we just want to improve ourself. We want to see it again, try new things and so on..
I don't know if they will make a remake. Somebody said that it is impossible, others say that it is inevitable. We can't know for sure. I think that adding more weapons, materia and stuff will be enough. I also think that it would be great to have more options to choose your answers.

I think that it would be great to choose who will Cloud love. I mean you say: Yes, Tifa is my GF. You get a date with her but then.. at the end of the movie he shows that he loves Aeris. That's only my oppinion, please don't kill me for this.

Also it would be awful if they get rid of a character. Each character has his purpouse in the game. I mean don't get rid of Cait Sith. PLEASE Getting rid of the mog is ok, but not Cait Sith itself. I know you all hate him but there are few fans of him!

The Compilation is going on for another 10 years. IMO, it seems likely that they would make a remake somewhere in that timespan.

After all, we all know Squenix, and they're not afraid to milk FF for all it's worth. Especially VII.

As much as i would LOVE to see a graphics re-make of FFVII, I highly doubt that SquareEnix would do nearly as well with it as Squaresoft could have alone....Im afraid of them changing the story line (unless they chose to add the plot holes they revealed in FF:VII Ultima Omega [book] ). I would hate for the story and dialouge to be altered too much from this form. I am contented for now with playing the PS game, and as many others have said, don't see myself paying for a PS3 just for FFVII. Though, SquareEnix did officially announce somewhere that they are not remaking it...as someone said before, they may eventually do it, when they start running out of ideas...Which may come soon...

On another note, AC was good, but too short...They really have not done all they can for FFVII, atleast in america. most of those games are not even coming out in english (Lucky i know Japanese). So a remake would do well in America, methinks.

Yeah, it was just a tech demo for the PS3, not really to show off FFVII.

It's going to happen , There is a FFVII timeline somewhere and FFVII was set in the last month of 2007 and the start of 2008.
Not only that but Square Enix said that there is going to be a big surpise on December the 18th (Which is the day that FF was created and the day that FFVII began )
It could possibly lead to a Remake, and with Square re-doing FFIV on the Nintendo DS things look more hopefull towards a FFVII coming true.

But with a FFVII remake the swearing and contents like the Honey Bee Inn, the Rating would have to be much higher.

They should add Voices into it, add some new AMV's fix up the plot-holes add some new mini games and show Vincent and Yuffie at the Ending.
Maybe some new Materia too...

No games on the PS3 intrest me. So I probably wouldn't buy one just for FFVII. I'm sure it wouldn't compare to the first version anyway. A DS version, THAT I would consider.

Didn't square already say they aren't going to do a ps3 remake of FFVII because it would take ten years to remake the game, and would cost alot to do? Personally i think this is one game that needs to be taken out of the gaming publics eyes and never ever mentioned again. People have done everything possible to over glorify this game and take characters and make them do who knows what so much that if i hear the word Final Fantasy 7, i involentarly vomit.

The problem is if they did a remake they'd dramatically have to change many many many aspects of the game, not to mention change alot of key points in the story. Plus they'd have to get rid of alot of the original character sprites and rebuild them from the ground up. Espically cinimas , which were often randomized and had no real bearing on the story. Some went as far as to even make the game look tackier (if that is possible.) This remake will never happen, as strong as a fan base as FF7 has, it's not economical to cater to the few who actually like it as opposed to remaking some other one for the ps3 (like we arent going to have another FF1 for the ps3 it's on just about every other system.)

As far as I know, Square only said that they had no plans to do a FFVII remake. No explanation. No elaboration. I think the rest of that is fan speculation.
