It seems that sometime since I started drinking it a year and a half ago, VitaminWater started to get big. It's always on endcap displays when I go to the store, Kelly Clarkson, Gilbert Arenas, and about four hundred other people endorse it now, et cetera. It's even impacted Coke, who is now selling a Diet Coke with added B vitamins in response. But has it spread its virus through CoN yet? Are you as addicted to it as I am?
I have to say, I adore the stuff. I love the packaging, with its simple Euro style, and there's about a half dozen flavors that really do it for me, most notably Power-C, XXX, and Defense. Plus it's kinda nice to get the added junk in there, too. Please do sharing thoughts. Or check out http://vitaminwater.com/ if you're clueless. -------------------- "To create something great, you need the means to make a lot of really bad crap." - Kevin Kelly Why aren't you shopping AmaCoN? |

Let me put it this way.
Gatorade>>>>>>>Vitamin Water I've only tried one flavor of vitamin water that I liked. And even with that being said, a lot of the food places I go to now have vitamin water instead of gatorade, like it's some type of replacement. Nothing can replace gatorade, especially not crappy flavor water. Yeah I hate vitamin water. -------------------- "We're not tools of the government or anyone else. Hmm, I've never heard of the stuff, or anything remotely like it. Or the Diet Coke with added B vitamins for that matter.
Personally I take a couple of zinc capsules every day, and I've hardly been ill since I started taking it, and have never had to take a sick day. So it does the job for me very well indeed. ![]() -------------------- 'Let that be a lesson to all oppressive vegetable sellers.' |

at my high school it is cheeper to get vitamin water instead of gatoraide. i dont like gatoraide unless im lifting weights or sports etc, otherwise it is too sugary.
i give my vote to vitamin water. favorite flavor := XXX!!! it might be one of the best tasting things i have ever had. and i like the little comments on the bottles. it gives me something to read in class. ![]() -------------------- Currently Playing : Final Fantasy V Most Recently Beat : Elder Scrolls: Skyrim Favorite Game : Final Fantasy X The newest CoNcast is up! Never tried it. I have, however, seen it everywhere the last couple months. They even have vending machines for it now.
I've also seen the vitamin-added Coke. I'm staying away from that. Because, well, ew. For now, Gatorade's at the top of my list. -------------------- Squenix games completed: FFIII FFIV FFVI FFVII FFIX FFX FF Tactics: Advance 2 Chrono Trigger Dragon Quest 8 Dragon Quest 11 Super Mario RPG |

i'd advise anyone to try it though, since the flavors aren't just the normal. you know, grape, orange, strawberry, green-whatever, etc, just with special-sounding names to make it sound new. these are, for the most part, different flavors, some of which i like, and some that i, well, yeah. plus, you know, they've found a way to get vitamins in my body so that i dont even know its vitamin! other than the name, of course.

I drink water, juice, gatorade, iced tea, and rarely soda. That's it.

I'm a water drinker. Alll the way. Plain old water.
In a bold dieting move, I cut way back on sugary/fattening drinks. Occasionally I dive in to juice, or an Arizona Iced Tea (which are pretty additive free.) Really, the only times I drink something other than water or Arizona is when I'm getting hammered. I like mixing the Half and Half/tea lemonade stuff Arizona makes. I do love my mixers. Even then, I always make sure if I'm drinking, that I down a glass or two of water every hour. (Gotta prevent those hangovers.) And, unless I can't avoid it, I make it a point to never drink bottled water. It's pointless beyond belief. Bottled water is far less regulated than tap water. I work in a supermarket, and I too noticed how much this stuff has taken off. People buy this stuff by the case. Personally, I've never liked Gatorade, Powerade, or any of the flavoured waters I've encountered. To be honest, I haven't been able to convince myself to spend the dollar-fifty on VM. And, seriously, I'm in no hurry. This post has been edited by MogMaster on 8th July 2007 06:02 -------------------- If you've been mod-o-fied, It's an illusion, and you're in-between. My mother started buying Vitamin Water, I presume because she needed the vitamins and the name drew her. I always was "meh" about it. I like it, for sure, but it's not my favorite. In the end, I suppose I don't really care what brand of drink I'm having, as long as it falls into the "good" category.
I will say that Dragonfruit (or whatever creative name they have for it) is delicious. But I'll have to disagree with price, it does seem a little expensive. Not sure exactly, though. -------------------- I find your lack of faith disturbing... |

Maybe it's not in Canada (or at least, not in PEI), but I haven't seen it yet. If I spot it next time I'm out, I'll try some. Can anyone else from Canada confirm that it's here?
We do have flavoured water by Aquafina. You can get it in flavours like raspberry, grapefruit, and I think blueberry. I don't like the fact that there's so much sugar in this stuff. Sports drinks in general are just glorified soda, and there have to be better ways to get your vitamins.

They're sports drinks, meant to replenish all that you lose when sweating. The extra calories give a nice little kick too. So is there a better way to get them while on the run? I can't imagine it. Gatorade tastes like watered-down kool-aid to me though, so it's really a step down from soda. ![]() Vitamin water is not a sports drink though. I tried Vitamin Water instead of Gatorade once and it wasn't much better than chugging from the hose. I agree. VitaminWater has no where near the utility that Gatorade does. If anything, VitaminWater is just another flavored drink with a unique and slightly healthy novelty. Gatorade just plain works. There definitely is a difference in taste between VitaminWater and flavored water drinks, for me. VitaminWater tastes like a stand-alone drink... a "soda" type flavor. Flavored Water, like that Dasani water with strawberry or whatever, is terribly watered down (or surgary-water, depending on how you think [is the glass half full or half empty?]). While the flavored water stuff should technically taste more like water, to me it tastes a lot more fake than VitaminWater or Gatorade does. Who put the bump in the thready thready thread? I did because I finally found some cans of VitaminEnergy at the store when I was there a half hour ago. It's really just VitaminWater with caffeine and carbonation, but adding those things might make you guys like it more. I'm finishing off a Dragonfruit right now, and I can at least guarantee that it's a LOT better than drinking a Red Bull.

I finally got to try it, as a free sample at the grocery store. It's alright, but tastes very diluted. If gatorade or something more flavourful like that had close to the same nutrients, I think I'd go for that instead.

I did a project in my health class a few years back about how the name vitamin water (just vitamin water in general) is just a ruse to get people to buy the product even if it's only slightly more expensive than regular water. It's more practical to just buy your vitamins and drink water separately rather than combining the two. I would much rather just purchase regular bottled water rather than purchase something with sugar in it. I am a sucker for the orange Vitamin Water, though. Their advertising sucks monkey butt, though.
On a side note, I suppose if I am going to drink something sweet, I'd rather just get something like orange juice rather than Gatorade or Vitamin Water. -------------------- "You underestimate the strength of a Jedi's mind, Brejik.
