Once upon a time, you were just about to join the forums of CoN. You registered, clicked a few buttons, and you were in! But that was a long time ago, and you've probably changed since then.

My question to you is : How much have you changed since joining CoN?

Whenever I click "Find all posts by this poster (me)" and go to my first posts, I realized that I was idiotic, self-centered, had bad grammar, and was annoying. Just by looking at my posts of the past made me feel embarrassed. I wish I could go back in time and punch some sense into the past me.

Also, I was quite the post whore. Now that I look at it, I don't even know why. It's just a counter to keep track of how many posts you've posted for god's sake >_>

So, how much have you changed?

I am slightly less hyper, and less obsessed about Final Fantasy. Health stuff excites me more, as college approaches.

Looking back at all my early posts I found myself hating that person, I was a complete jerk and was very stupid and annoying, and didn't have any respect for the mods. I'm glad I have changed, even if only a little.

I first joined to do the quizzes. Go fig.

I was a silly kid who didn't think about his posts that much and said what was on his mind with little concern.
Have I changed much, really?

Bit of a tough question to answer, given that I was here for years before the forums and never really signed up per se. smile.gif

I've gotten quite a bit older, and generally changed everything about my life since the forums first opened, to be sure. I graduated Uni, got my first real job, got married, moved states twice, et cetera, et cetera.

Personally, though, it's a bit odd. I'd have to say as it pertains to this site I've become simultaneously more impatient but more lenient. I'm sure anyone who's been around here since the old days knows that the CoN banhammer used to come out and play far more frequently than it now does, but by the same token, I look at all the work that has gone into the site and wonder if I'd just walk away rather than having to do it all over again. Odd dichotomy, from my point of view.

In fairness, seeing the CoN banhammer in action was pure entertainment. biggrin.gif

Let's see, how have I changed. I think when I joined up I was a part timer in a supermarket. I also spoke a bit like a hippy. I can't say I'm embarrassed, I was never aggressive or rude to anyone and don't think I ever posted just for the sake of posting. But I was a bit daft, and probably still am.

Now I'm working full time in the Police Service, and will soon have my own flat with my girlfriend, woohoo! It's just a matter of signing on the dotted line.

I've always known I couldn't argue to save my life when it comes to debates, so at first I think I stayed away from a lot of them, but now I get stuck in a lot more. And I learn a lot from the people here, and so I thank you.

Well even as long as I've been here, I've remained relatively unchanged. I was extremely anti-social then, really only posting in the submittions forum, and I've pretty much remained so having migrated to the my creations forum.

I noticed that I was far more focused on writing than I am now. That's prolly cause I got hooked on the animation thing and just kinded shifted to drawing. But other than that, I'm relatively unchanged. Guess I got here past my evolutionary phase.

I know I was more interested in FF when I first joined and I played the games a lot more often. Now, I haven't played a single FF game in a while, even though I'm still a big fan of the series.

I played a lot of video games and was rather anti-social. I was in eighth grade.

This didn't change until I went to college.

So in four years I went from a video game/computer nerd to a math nerd with friends. Maybe a rung higher on the ladder, heh.

I played a whole lot more Final Fantasy then, that's for sure. I did go through FFVIa and FFVa when they came out, but I don't think I've played any others for a few years now.

When I started posting 5 and half years ago, I was a college sophomore with way too much time on my hands. And I loved making lists and polls about things. I actually still like doing that, but I think I exhausted most of the ideas I had long ago. I also loved talking about sports, but that hasn't changed at all.

Now I don't get around here very often for lack of time, although I can't complain about that too much for the next few months (hooray for summers off!)

I used to be a bigger asshole than I am right now when I joined CoN as LockewithCeles. FFVI was my favorite along with V at that time, and I always argued with other people's opinions on FF5 and FF4. But I do think I have gotten better and much calmer than I was before. I stopped being conscending recently after that stupid bikini thread CSM started, and that helped me alot. Since that was one of the main reasons people hated me.

We all have to go through craptacular phases or moments. But I've fixed my mistakes here.

I've changed quite a-bit. My older posts make me sad and confused. Oftentimes I look back on them like a movie where the character is about to do something really stupid, and you might say out loud, "Don't do that, you moron."

Personality wise, I've shifted quite a bit. Even from last year. I've dropped about 40lbs, and changed a lot of my personal habits quite a bit. I'm still sort of anti-social though. Not nearly as much as I was.

My First, Second, and Fourth posts ever show a bit of arrogance, and I still feel like a moron whenever I have to look at them. I have entirely edited out my 4th post, but Lasz in checking me on my arrogance has actually preserved some of it by quoting part of it, so the memory still exists. I'm just glad that this forum is good about second chances, as I really do enjoy the ability to converse on these topics.

I don't know why I even tried to be someone different in the beginning, I guess I was just trying too hard to seem too awesome. Well, got that out of my system, and now I'm the same dorky, quirky person I ever was. tongue.gif

I think the fact that my most used emoticon is tongue.gif pretty much explains my entire disposition.

I laugh at my self in shame every time I think about it.

If anything, I'd say I was a good deal more gung-ho than I am now. Energetic, over-confident, and full of some darn bad jokes. And so wrapped up in things that I actually tried to convince myself that I enjoyed Final Fantasy games. I'm going to give myself the benefit of the doubt and say that I was at least in the double-digits age-wise. To be honest, I don't even know why I joined (or why I'm still here) in the first place.

Now? I'm an apathetic, cranky, bipolar douchebag. I think that sums it up about right. To be honest, I don't know why they let me stay.

But I had pretty good grammar.

To tell you the truth, I probably haven't changed too much (personality wise). I've felt that I'm pretty much the same person that way in regards to the way I think as I was ten or so years ago when I first got on the internet. I still don't suffer morons easily, I like words spelled correctly and sentences that make sense, and I believe in myself. I'm still a Final Fantasy fan even after all these years. As far as my art, that has changed lately. Not so much as my style but rather I used to be more prolific and post more.

The funny thing is, I haven't really changed too much in the short time I have been here. I have warmed up to some people, but for the most part, I still have the same demeanor and stance that I always had: A self-serving loner with a soft spot for kids. I admire the fact that many of you can honestly state that you have changed, and have found the means to do so. I am, on the other hand, set in my ways.

I will say that I do love the atmosphere of the forums and the friendly camraderie(sp?) that develops between most of us, well those of us who actually venture beyond one realm of conversation and interact on a grand scale. I have to say that I learned more in chat than anywhere else, if only due to the nature of the conversations there and the fact that replies cannot be as easily misconstrued.

In short, I haven't changed, and I probably won't. But, I learned a lot.

My first few posts sound like I could've made them yesterday. Man, I thought I'd changed. Well, I think I do put a bit more personality into my posts now. I sound more like myself than I used to, I think. I wish someone could decide that for me because I could be totally wrong and just think that.

I think I've become a bit more social than when I first joined, I'm not in grade 10 anymore, and I'm not quite as obsessed over FFIX anymore. Dude, I really used to obsess over that game. It is really great, though. I'm still the big FF nerd I was, if not, even more so.

I'm the same ol' King Eddy, yet different.

My posts on this forum have become fewer and further between, and I was never a prolific poster to begin with. I still frequently read the forum, but usually can't be bothered to post anything.

I read some of the posts I made here years ago. Some of my opinions are different now, but my analytical and dispassionate approach to issues of interest is more or less the same.

I was agressive, pushy, rude, immature, an anarchist; I delighted is people's confusion and frustration. I was naive. I was unbearable at times. Despire that, I had a lot of respectable ideas and conservative views about the world behind all the bullshit. Before too long I had pissed everyone off so much that when I had grown out of it, no one wanted to defend or talk to me. Since I have come back I have, for the most part, been welcomed back with open arms. I think my ideas are still conservative, but well founded now. Since I joined I've found a fiance, and am living on my own with her, she supports my college en devours and I work part-time when I can.
