That just prevents you from posting under the "Cow_Of_The_Opera" account. It won't remove your posts or make people forget them or your actions. It's either leaving silently without making a fuss, facing your problems with the site, or throwing a big fit and getting people emailling you about it for days after you do leave and leaving us with a fairly negative opinion of you afterwards.
IMO, you should go out for a walk, come back, and ask yourself if you're not just overreacting.
