so i was at school today and someone told me some odd things you can do by mixing up the letters in a word
for instance 'embargo' backwards is 'o grab me' or if you mix up mother in law, you can get 'woman hitler' what are some of the ones you guys have found? -------------------- Aujourdhui a commence avec toi. |

They're called anagrams. Here are some good ones:
Two Plus Eleven > One Plus Twelve Mother-in-law > Woman Hitler Dormitory > Dirty Room And the best anagram of all time.... To be or not to be: that is the question; whether 'tis nobler in the mind to suffer the slings and arrows of outrageous fortune... becomes... In one of the Bard's best-thought-of tragedies our insistent hero, Hamlet, queries on two fronts about how life turns rotten. -------------------- |

I'm more partial to palindromes. Because they sound wacky, BUT THEY WORK.
There's the easy variety where you just read the words backwards. "You can cage a swallow can't you but you can't swallow a cage can you?" Then there's the more complex variety where it works letter by letter. Here's a few. The first three aren't mine, but are well-known. The rest, I just whipped up on the fly so they're so-so. "A man, a plan, a cat, a canal... panama!" "Rats live on no evil star." "Rise to vote, sir." "Nod and eat tea, DNA Don!" "Dogs race rare cars, god." "Nemo, we line senile women." -------------------- "Judge not a man by his thoughts and words, but by the quality and quantity of liquor in his possession and the likelyhood of him sharing." |

My favorite palindrome is either "Satan, oscillate my metallic sonatas or "too bad I hid a boot." Also, check out the Weird Al song "Bob"; it's a style parody of Bob Dylan and every line is a palindrome.

I think I've heard the song Bob in the past, but didn't realize that it was more than just random ramblings. The vid link Zeromus posted is well worth the look-see for anyone who's into the palindrome scene.
