Final Fantasy XII will be entitled to a version indeed “internationalâ€! An at the same time unexpected news and not if surprising. Then, which will be the menu? The great innovation comes from the system of licence, since this time, it will not have there only one checkerwork, but twelve. That wants to thus say that there will be twelve different jobs which it will be possible to choose for its characters. Only that. The name of the play is besides Final Fantasy XII International Zodiac Job System. You now included/understood why there are twelve checkerworks: signs of the zodiac… One is in Ivalice, name of name. For the remainder, one can suppose that Square Enix will add the American voices, will restore the scene censured in the Japanese play of origin (that between Penelo and the group of Ba' Gamnan in Bhujerba) and will put the 16/9ème mode. Exit envisaged in Japan (only, undoubtedly) on August 9 next at the price of 6800 yens (42 euros).
This is a link to the site, but it's in French and what I posted is the translation. -------------------- If all else fails. beat them to death with sticks! |

Oh man that translation is great. Looks like they just put it straight through google translator. I can't wait for someone to get a good translation of this, because having jobs could be a pretty radical change from FFXII regular.

Well...
Quote Final Fantasy XII will be getting its very own "international" version! This is both unexpected and not all that surprising. So, what's on the menu? The biggest change comes in the form of the revised liscence board, as there will now be not one but twelve boards! This means there will be twelve different jobs open to the characters. That's all, actually. The game's full name is "Final Fantasy XII - Internation Zodiac Job System." Caught on yet? Twelve boards, twelve zodiac signs... this is Ivalice, after all. As for the rest, we can expect Square Enix to add the american voices, reinstate the censored-out scene in the original japanese version (the one which takes place when Penelo is kidnapped by Ba'Gamnan's group in Bhujerba), and add a 16/9 display mode. Expected to be released in Japan (only, one would expect) on august 9th for the paltry sum of 6800 yen (42 euros.) I took a few liberties here and there, but there you go. I wish they'd have done this with the original game. Seriously. The liscence board is terrible because it offers zero character individuality once you've mastered it. And buying it again isn't on my list of priorities. ![]() If you haven't bought it yet, you're in luck it seems. ![]() Having bought the game already, I think this sucks. But for people who still don't own it, I think the changes are great. ![]() -------------------- "Judge not a man by his thoughts and words, but by the quality and quantity of liquor in his possession and the likelyhood of him sharing." |

Neither FF X International nor Kingdom Hearts Final Mix were ever released in North America, and both FF X and KH were enormous successes in the US, so I have my doubts if we're ever going to see this over here. The additions sound neat, even better than the additions in FF X International, probably, but I still doubt we're getting it.

Oh great, Final Fantasy is going the same way as Metal Gear Solid.
Wait for all the fans to buy the game, then release a much better version of it, full price again. Talk about taking the micky. On the bright side, with all these next generation consoles having online capabilities, they will have far less excuses to attempt such scandals, as downloadable content will be available instead. There's more information on it:
- English voices, with possible English text. The English text thing has only been written about by Game Watch, without further confirmation. - 16:9 mode. - The big one, the addition of the job system. The jobs are: White mage, black mage, red mage, time mage, knight, monk, breaker, shikaree, uhlan, samurai, engineer and archer. --- Shikaree (Hunter/Thief) uses light armor and daggers, uhlan (Lancer?) uses spears, samurai uses katanas, breaker uses hammers, time mage can apparently use crossbows, and monk has the barehanded augments in addition to licenses for wooden poles. - It was impossible to change jobs once they were chosen in the demo. It remains to be seen whether there will be a method to change jobs in the final version or not. - The game can be sped up by pressing L1. Supposedly, this works like the fast forward mode in Chrono Cross. Comments have said that it can be too fast for normal play, but it's wonderful for some of the longer sequences like summoning or performing mist knacks. - Guests and summons can now be controlled manually, and you are also able to modify summons' gambits. - Treasures on the field have been moved around, and rare items are now easier to obtain. - Cure is now AoE, like Cura and Curada. This change is likely due to the fact that you will only have one person who is capable of using white magic. Curaga is probably going to be changed, too. - There's a new water magic spell called Aqua. - "Trial" mode has been added, in which you can fight against mobs, summons, rare monsters, etc. --- You can load your own save data. --- There are 100 maps. --- Each map has various enemies and treasures on it, though they are supposedly pretty small in size. --- Every 10 levels, you may receive items/gil and have the ability to save. - Some new gambits were added, such as "enemy has item" and "facing two or more enemies"(there are also three and four enemy variations of this gambit) Source -------------------- If all else fails. beat them to death with sticks! |
