Yup, she's filming a movie, "Taking Lives", here in Montreal, and we stuck around to meet her. My friend's uncle was an extra in the movie so he helped us get in touch with her. We took pictures and she signed autographs. She's so radiant, to say the least. She has an aura around her, it's just amazing. Oh, and Ethan Hawke walked by us on the street eating ice cream.

Lucky you ^-^ That sounds like it was pretty fun.
I met Brian Adams. It wasn't really anything spectacular, I was at a concert with a bunch of friends, and he was calling people up to stage to set up a pseudo-garage band so we could play Summer of '69. This was a good 5 years ago and I was still taking bass lessons, so I raised my hand for that, and all my friends banded together to yell for them to call me. So I went on stage, Brian said in a low voice "you can't really play that, can you?" (pretty sure he was just teasing) and I smiled and said "of course" then another person gave me a really wicked bass to play. The guy they found to sing was just amazing, it was so much fun. It felt pretty normal, I was more in awe at playing an instrument in front of thousands of people then actually meeting him. Nice enough man though, he has a good stage precense when he's singing. -------------------- I had an old signature. Now I've changed it. |

Wow, You're really lucky to meet Angelina Jolie!
I've met Gary Sinese (Lieutenant Dan in Forrest Gump. Â Appeared in a ton of movies like Mission to Mars, Ransom, etc.) Â I was at Disney World for Christmas break two years ago, and every year at Epcot (I think) Disney World arranges for a celebrity to host a show where there's lots of christmas medleys and classic songs. Â If I recall, they have a different celebrity each day, for an entire week. Â Well anyways on the day we went, Gary Sinese was hosting the show. Â The show was absolutely fantastic, and everyone's performance was amazing. Afterwards I got to meet him, shake his hand, take a picture, and got an autograph. Â He has a very warm personality and he's very personable to those he talked to. |

Hot. We need some picture scans.
The closest things I've ever been to meeting a celebrity were: A live Bill Cosby stand up comedy thing I went to. and At Disney World I saw the Olsen twins. Not very exciting. ![]() |

I know this probly doesn't mean much since you guys aren't really fans but when I was at an ICP show (my first one) Violent J hosed me down with a super soaker full of Faygo redpop while I was crowd surfing. Then one of his crew nearly smashed my head in with a faygo 2 liter when he bounced it off the speaker stack and sent it flying. I was against a stone wall and didn't wanna be in the hospital.
On that stack of hands floating around I was feeling awesome as for 4 seconds I was recognized by pretty much the coolest guy on earth to me. -------------------- At times one remains faithful to a cause only because its opponents do not cease to be insipid. Friedrich Nietzsche (1844 - 1900) |

Wow, gotta say I'm jealous of all of you. I went on a fishing trip with a guy who was an offensive lineman for the Oakland Raiders in Super Bowl II, but other than that, nothing for me. My Dad met Mike Ditka a few weeks ago, Dick Butkas a few years ago at the airport, used to be friends with Mike Bortz (I think...offensive lineman for the '85 Bears?), and my mom got accidentally knocked down by William Perry at Sentry, who helped her up and my mom talked to him for a while I guess way back in the day when we lived in Libertyville, IL. Heh, yeah, lotta Bears. I'm a huge Bears fan though, so that's what I remember.
Also, my sister knows the band Fountains of Wayne (they're the ones who actually sang "That Thing You Do" for the movie, and have other songs that you probably know, but don't know the band). Other than that, me personally have nothing. ![]() -------------------- The clouds ran away, opened up the sky And one by one I watched every constellation die And there I was frozen, standing in my backyard Face to face, eye to eye, staring at the last star I should've known, walked all the way home To find that she wasn't here, I'm still all alone -Atmosphere "Always Coming Back Home to You" |

that's pretty sweet, JLo.
![]() Anywho, in the summer between 9th and 10th grade at a KoRn concert, after the show my friends and I noticed the band getting on their bus. And us not being so far away from it and it not being crowded or anything, we decided to go up to them. It was pretty cool. None of us had cameras so we don't have any pictures, but we all got Jonathan to sign something. I had nothing for him to sign except my shirt on my back, so.... gee, i think I'll have to dig that shirt out from closet and remanisse -------------------- "When I turn the page The corner bends into the perfect dog ear As if the words knew I'd need them again But at the time, I didn't see it." ~"This Ain't a Surfin' Movie" - Minus the Bear |

I was thinking about making a celebrity thread, when low and behold there already was one!
![]() I used to work at a Kinko's, and one of my regular customers was Troy Aikman(ex-quarterback for the Dallas Cowboys). This was when he first started commentating on games for FOX. He would come in and I would help him put together his line-up sheet for the game he was working that week. Basically it's a sheet with every position and player that could be on the field. I'm 6'3'' and he made me feel small. Still he was incredibly nice, knew my name after his first visit, and gave me a couple pointers on throwing a football. Darryl Johnston also came in a couple times, but I didn't really help him, just a simple "Hello.". Hall of Famer Randy White came in too, and he was a complete dick. However the tatoo on his bicep was as big as my head, so I didn't start anything. Last, but definitly not least Tommy Chong. He came to Dallas a couple years back, and friend of mine worked at the comedy club he was appearing in and they needed some promotional work done. With me being at Kinko's I did the work in exchange for tickets. Not only did I get the table right at the front of the stage, but I also got to hang out with him for a few minutes after the show. He was really cool, and surprisingly not stoned at all. He then had to go outside and sell his wares...for which he is now in jail for. Thanks for the memories Kinko's...you still suck though. i didnt think of this one when i posted in july, but i have spoken to and been acknowledged by christopher walken several times. he lives near my uncle in a tiny town, so everyone that lives there just accepts him as another guy walking around, and nobody bothers him. whenever i see him in the store or something, ill say hello and just ask him whats up or whatever. hes pretty much in reality how he is in the movies. i dont think of it as meeting a celebrity when ive seen him so many times, to me, hes just a guy that happens to live down the road from my uncle john.

In high school I played basketball against Corey Maggette and Eddy Curry. Eddy dunked on me (for some reason coach decided to put me in at center during that game
![]() I met De La Soul, they were signing autographs after a show once. I met Chali2Na of Jurrasic 5 (he's in the yahoo! commercials now) hanging out outside before a show once, that was cool since he was really polite and actually seemed like he wanted to talk to people. Also ?uestlove of The Roots, I didn't meet in person but talked to him on the phone once. I met Jessica Alba (James Cameron's Dark Angel) at a promotional event where she was autographing pictures. Most everyone else famous that I've met have to do with the University of Maryland; I went to junior high with Steve Francis (Houston Rockets), met Gary Williams (U of Maryland's hoops coach) during a banquet I sang at, and by complete coincidence had lunch with Lonny Baxter (Washington Wizards).
