Getting Shadow back(spoilers)

i was playing my FF6 for GBA and right after the floating continent when you go into the Cave on the Veldt you can either have Relm or Shadow there injured and i was wondering if there is any other way to get shadow back if you didn't wait for him at the end of the floating continent

ah, nevermind, i just solved my own problem. I was reading the CoN walkthrough. poopy i didn't know you had to wait until 5 seconds!!! i thought the world would explode and me with it so i jumped with about 7 to go i think!. and shadow was my favorite character too...

i might have a tiny breakthrough, in the Zone Eater you can kill those ninjas and they drop a striker (according to the walkthrough) SO, if i can get a striker then bet it in colleseum.......
