Okay, so I just read yesterday that theres going to be a live action Speed Racer movie. I don't have the site that I first found it on, but here's proof.
It wont be out till next year, but I'm pretty syched.

ZOMG! Speed is being played by the guy from Girl Next Door.

The Wachowski brothers are directing, which means:

This movie can't be bad, no matter how hard it is to make... JUST AS LONG as they keep the mach 5 the mach 5. No liberties allowed. Make the car as is... then let me buy it.

I'm cringing in horror at how this is going to turn out.

10 bucks says the Mach 5 looks nothing like the Mach 5. If Optimus Prime gets a flame paint job, you bet your sweet arse the mach 5 is getting a reintroduction to 2007 as well.

The audio track better be poorly synchronized with the video, so that mouths are moving when there is no speech and that sort of jazz or else I'll be highly disappointed, since that's really what made Speed Racer for me. Racer X better be as bad ass as absolutely possible.

I'm hopeful about this movie in that it'll probably be worth a laugh or two and a bit of nostalgia, but chances are it's going to be another sad sad adaptation.

Being a big speed racer fan I can only hope this ends up like the Spiderman movie. (The outlook for transformers right now isn't good).

The kid from the girl next door playing Speed, all fine and good. Let's hope he pulls it off.
