Ok I was thinking about this for a while, who do you all think is the hardest final boss in the FF series. I did not include names cause I did not want to spoil anything for people. Also, if you want include who you thought was the easiest. For me the hardest was FFIX, the easiest being FFVIII.

SPOILER ALERT!  Highlight to view:
That damn Necron was a pain in the ass, he killed everyone but Zidane who was luckly in Trance and was able to kill him

I would say the hardest would be the last boss in FF4 and the easiest would be the last boss in in FF6.  I beat him in one turn.  Talk about pathetic.

The only boss I've gotten to and haven't been able to beat, ever, has been Ex-Death. I really need to kill him some time but that damned stone/kill spell always got me healing rather than attacking.  I've never played to the end of FFII to tell you much about the boss, other than it's an emperor or something.

FFIV is the only boss you cannot kill cheaply. The first three's system is primitive, and if you have a certain class/level, you can beat them easily. Like the boss having 2000 HP, then your characters can do 1000 damage each.
FFV, FFVI, and FFIX you can easily become over-powered and do 9999 every turn.
FFVII and FFVIII went over-board by allowing multiple 9999-hits each turn (KOR, Omnislash, and Lionheart), then FFVIII's and FFX's(as I've heard) going to five digits. I hate inflation.

Edit
AND, when you max out, FFIV's boss is still not easy

I would have to say Neo-Exdeth from FFV.
Like Necron he also uses grand cross and afterwards (Once we
were all confused and petrified) he would simply blow my
party away with Ultra gust. Grr!
As for easiest... FFVI wins hands down.

FFV's was the most difficult for me because if you managed to defeat the first form, you were likely weakened, and then the second form would do away with you pretty quickly.  I finally won by making four Mimes with HP+30%, GP Toss, and Summon/White (two had Summon, two had White).  I would defeat the first form with constant mimicked Holy, and the second form with either mimicked Bahamut, or constant GP Tossing.  Healing when necessary with the white magic users.

Too true : it took me hours of evolving before i could see the end on my first game (i didn't know the dupe trick though...).

The easiest boss got to be FF X's; even if you rush through the game, he still get a clean nice beating...

I would have to say that FFIV's boss was the hardest, as people have mentioned earlier there isn't a cheap way to kill him. It just takes a lot of leveling up, fast battle reflexes, and a lot of praying. (Probably 90% praying lol)
FFVII also has a hard final boss, in terms of time, at least in my game. I remember going in with Vincent, Cloud, and Yuffie. Somewhere in the battle, Vincent and Cloud had a bunch of status effects that I couldn't cure. So Yuffie did everything for a while until SOMEONE (the boss cough cough) stopped with the status crap. All in all, it took a while for me to beat that battle, but it was well worth it since

FFX's is the hardest because its a series of fights.  Then if you have the caldablog and blitz ace you have the fight in the a g but still its pretty hard. 8 and 10 have 5 digit damage like was said thank you eden and everyting in 10.

The only one who even gave me trouble was Zeromus from FFIV--especially in the Chronicles version!  Kefka and Sephiroth were pushovers, I was seriously expecting another fight with Kuja or something because it was just too easy, being able to draw/cast in FFVIII made everything easy for me, and if you spend any amount of time leveling up in FFX, you shouldn't have trouble with beating it.  Some of the fights with lesser bosses (I don't want to say who for fear of spoiling) are way harder than the final fight.

Zeromus of FFIV definitely beats all the others. That battle took nothing but skillage to beat, there really was no cheap way out unless you consider the dark matter thing cheap, but even with that you've got a battle ahead of you that won't give you much quarter to take a breath.

The easiest I'd have to say was FF7 although I must admit the first time I played him none of my players(except for Nanaki cuz it's kinda hard not to get it) had their ultimate weapons, they were maybe at level 70 at the most, none of them had their level 4 limit breaks not even Cloud's Omnislash(i had no idea where it was), nor Tifa's because that's impossible to get without some kind of guide, nor Nanaki's because I missed a limit somewhere inbetween so I couldn't use Cosmo Memory but I found that was for the better because Earth Rave is a much better limit break. On top of all that crap the best summon I had was Neo-Bahamut...talk about suckage. It took me all day to beat him that way but I did it and I've never had a better feeling although I soon found that if I had actually explored the game instead of rushing through it that Sephiroth fell within minutes. :::sigh::: I'm so stupid.

The hardest FF boss has to be Neo-Exdeth. Me and my friend battled him for hours until we finally won. The easiest boss is without doubt Kefka in FF6. Do some "Ultima" and he'll be gone like the wind.   ;)

I have played many FF-games, but I've only met two of the final bosses, Kefka and Sephiroth. And none of them were especially difficult to take down. Therefore, I don't vote in the poll. :p

The last boss in FF4 isn't hard at all, though many people say it is. I admit that I died the first time I battled him, but I kicked his ass in the second round. I know that FF4 exists in two versions, and I've heard that one of them is much harder than the other. Maybe I played the easy version...I don't know. All I know is that Zeromus wasn't hard for me at all.

Hint: There is a cave where you can by stuff for Edge to throw. Use these at Zeromus.
I've forgotten where this cave is located, but it's very easy to find. Just have your eyes open and you'll find it. ;)

I'm surprised nobody voted for Dark Cloud of Final Fantasy III (the real III, not VI). She's always been the bane of my existence. I can never manage to beat her with any of my party members in good shape.

In second place is not Kefka, but the final section of his Tower. *grumbles about bosses that heal themselves* And in third place is ExDeath. Although, after several tries, I ended up beating him with this simple strategy: Bahamut Bahamut Bahamut GilToss GilToss Bahamut GilToss GilToss GilToss GilToss Bahamut Bahamut Bahamut!! ;)

I'm playing VII right now, though, and I'm just about at the end of the game, so my vote may change soon...we'll see. :)

Jecht. Aarrgh. Die die.

I've never finished FF8 (I never levelled up enough so I died trying to get the Ragnarok) and I still haven't completed FF4 yet, but out of the ones I have done, Jecht was the hardest.

Every time I inflicted Zombie those stupid stone things healed him. Every time he got into his second form one swoop of his sword killed everyone. I had to leave to go get Anima and Yuna's Celestial weapon before I could kill him. Grah.

Well funny thing my friend used my team and annailated ultemicia beause he had initiative auto-haste aura, and then he used renuzucken or whatever 20 times per fight.

Hey, King Of Sacrifice! Try high level and "Knights Of The Round Table" summon, then it won't be hard anymore.

Or perhaps you consider that to be cheating, but I really don't think hidden items you can get without cheat codes/gamesharks count as cheating. -_-

Hands down, Neo Ex-Death from FFV. It's actually the only FF (aside from III, which I've never played) game I've never beat. Part of the problem lies within my level of interest. FFV just wasn't all that fun for me, so as I didn't play it that often, I didn't level up much, so Neo Ex-Death's UltraGust always kicked my @$$.

I never really thought Zeromous was that hard, in either version. Just so long as you have quick hands and you heal (very consistently), you should do well.

Easiest... FFVII, there's just way too much room to be cheap... (W-Summon, KOR, Mime...) Sephiroth goes down in 1 attack, ANY form.

Hardest... Dunno, I haven't gotten into the older FFs and the ones from VII up are ridiculously easy (ie: final boss ISN'T the strongest enemy).

Actually, if you're excessively cheap, FFVIII is the easiest if you use Selphie...

I think X was probably the absolute easiest, as Selphie and Squall relied on luck to get their ultmate moves. If you had everyone on an Overdrive X was really easy. The first form went down with your normal characters overdrives and the second form only took one or two aeons. You didn't need to heal at all.

The one I found hardest was definitely IX. My cousin had told me that IX was the hardest of the one's he'd played and I thought Kuja and Deathguise were really easy so I kind of expected something more after it....and I was right!

I always finish the last boss on IX with just Garnet and Zidane alive. Garnet does nothing but heal and I just use Zidane's Grand Lethal.

Possible spoilers: highlight to view
He always uses Neutron Ring, and then when my partiy's half dead does that Grand Cross thing that gives you every status effect in the book!

I don't know why people find the boss to FF2/4j so difficult. I found Zeromus rather easy: all I had to do was have Edge dart the spoon, then really strong stuff, Rosa cast Cure4, Rydia summon Bahamut, Cecil attack, and Kain Jump. But I was playing FF2us; maybe it was easier than it should have been.

I agree that the 3rd tier of Kefka's monster obelisk is tougher than Kefka himself. Kefka himself seemed rather wimpy compared to it.
