IIRC they use their water skills only when riding a ship in the world map. I remember activating "Big Wave" in the third world while riding the ship.
As for "marsh", I think the only "marsh" out there is the one in Galuf's world (the black/dark brown mud spots). It's weird that there are no marshes in the first world. If Caesar's reading this post, please do correct me if I got any of these wrong or missed anything else. |

If I can remember correctly, there were marshes in Galuf''s world. (World 2) You could use Bottomless Pit to kill enemies instantly, which was pretty cool >_>

Marshes are the area on the map near coasts that look a little brownish. Most the time they will have a beachish looking design in the background.

I believe there are marshes in the third world, but they are hard to see or something, because i remember seeing them, but they were in a distant corner of the world not on the main path of the game or something
