I'm looking for data on Test 0, the enemy that supposedly only appears in the original Japanese version due to programmer forgetfulness. The thing is, I'm having a terrible time finding good info, and absolutely no luck as to a picture of the thing (I was surprised when it didn't turn up on the site, and forum searching only gave me one post that referenced Test 0 and nothing more). Would anyone know where I can learn more about this, maybe a GS code to fight it in the U.S. version should it still exist? If I could see it for myself, I could get my own pictures.

A quick Google search came up with this. Its some dodgy cheat site, so I'd take the info with a pinch of salt if I were you:
Quote Extra experience (Japanese version): When in the Gold Saucer prison, enter the well just outside of the town. Walk around until encountering a monster named "Test 0" which resembles a dog. You can poison or attack it. Instead of fighting back, it will whimper and ask that it not be hurt. Another source: Quote --Test 0 Glitch--[036] This section probably fits best under the Programmer Only section, but I think this works in the Japanese version of the game. There is an enemy that was orginally taken out of the game called Test 0, which could be found in the Corel Prison (where the empty treasure box is). This enemy was used to test out the game's systems, and offered a lot of EXP and Gil. However, you can still fight this enemy if you use a Gameshark or the like to hack into the system's graphics. So, looks like you'll need a Gameshark to do it, but it can be done. |

You know what S/E needs to do? When they re-release FF7 for PS3, they need to make extra special sure to find a way to incorporate every rumor that has been floating around about the game for the last ten years. I want to see it all, man - resurrecting Aeris, Sky/Underwater/Space Chocobo, Ticondo, Supernova materia, Silver/Gold/Onyx/Platinum/Turquoise/Cheese Weapon, Godo's underwear, the whole sha-bang.
And right before you see any of these new features are unlocked, Cloud needs to say "This feature are not in the US version. It never were and never is be." But, in all fairness, I haven't yet heard this rumor. ![]() -------------------- You don't scare me, you talking blobs of oozing slop! I am impervious to pain! |

They're not re-releasing ff7 for the ps3 are they? I haven't heard about this anyway. Do you mean a ps3 remake or the old style ff7 with slightly tweaked graphics and mechanics? Or just the regular ff7 we know and love from the ps1?

More Test 0 information:
Quote --Test 0--[PO01] There is a lot behind this one. There was an enemy, originally designed to test the game's systems, that was taken out of the regular game, but can still be fought by hacking into the game's graphics, and can only be fought at the Corel Prison, where the open treasure box is. This is still possible to do in the Japanese version, however. There was a Key Item called a Loveless Ticket attached to this enemy. This Loveless Play Ticket was meant to replace the Test 0 battle in the game, but they programmed this in the wrong place, in the inaccessible background of the Corel Prison. Therefore, it is still in the game, but can only be gotten through hacking. This ticket was originally used to see the play in the Gold Saucer, but that part was removed; just not all of it, such as Cid mentioning the play at the start of Disc 3, if you talk to him before going down into the Northern Crater. And whilst looking for that, I spent the last hour or so reading about the elusive 'TRNAD53' missing background. Some of the info on that is crazy. |

The "FFVII remake" is as of now a rumour with some "screenshots", but if anything it will be out late in '08 with the ff compilation
PS: are any of those actually true spread rumours, asylum?!?!?! -------------------- <DrkMagimaster282> MWAHAHA. It's been a long time since we worked on the enemy data for FF7, but I don't actually remember Test 0 being referenced by Leviathan, which means we wouldn't have had the data anyway. Perhaps it *is* in Leviathan, I don't have time to find my discs now to check, but it was omitted from the site specifically for the reasons you're looking for it. -------------------- "To create something great, you need the means to make a lot of really bad crap." - Kevin Kelly Why aren't you shopping AmaCoN? |

Quote (DrkMagimaster282 @ 4th April 2007 05:05) PS: are any of those actually true spread rumours, asylum?!?!?! Well if you mean if they are rumours that were spread, resurrecting aeris is the oldest one of them all, I haven't heard about the sky or space chocobo but I have heard about the underwater chocobo which is apparently white in colour. The supernova materia is another rumour that was spread but as for the other ones he stated I haven't heard those anywhere. Needless to say all the rumours are just bullsh1t and designed to make you waste your time. The only one that is relatively true is ressurecting aeris because you can do it by cheating example using a gameshark atleast I think so, I've never tried because I hate cheating and to be honest I never really liked aeris that much anyway ![]() Moderator Edit In case you were looking for the topic somewhere in this irrelevant paragraph, here it is: Quote I'm looking for data on Test 0, the enemy that supposedly only appears in the original Japanese version due to programmer forgetfulness. Why bother with all this stuff it's a waste of time isn't it? Or are you trying to discover the dark secrets of ff7?

Nothin' like fighting a giant piece of swiss cheese. Makes for an interesting battle. Even omnislash couldn't beat that thing, but I bet Sephiroth could...

Quote (From the link) Note: As of press time, it appears that Test 0 has been removed from the English PlayStation version of Final Fantasy VII. Does that mean the NA release? Or does "English" mean European... or outside Asia? I'd have to get to that point from scratch to try it out, so that's not going to happen. -------------------- Scepticism, that dry rot of the intellect, had not left one entire idea in his mind. For what it's worth, I just dusted off Leviathan and Test 0 does not appear in any enemy data for the US PC version. I don't believe there were any changes between that version and the American PSX version aside from dialogue tweaks.
Oh, and I do have that same guide linked above, as well. This post has been edited by Rangers51 on 6th April 2007 17:58 -------------------- "To create something great, you need the means to make a lot of really bad crap." - Kevin Kelly Why aren't you shopping AmaCoN? |
