I like to use Cloud, Vincent, and Red XIII. My first time playing I used Yuffie instead of Vincent. But after playing the game a few times...I realized how cool Vincent is If i could use 4 i'd add Tifa to my party.

Vincent /sometimes i think that i keep him only cause he's cool. But I'm sure he will develop and will make more damage than 2500 with the Death penalty/

Definitely it's the best team you can have. But in the game, the only character you really need is Cloud, stronger than the others.

i use ReD 13, vincent, cloud but i always use for high leveled profiles
Red 13, Cloud, Barret. i always wanted to try out vincent, barret, cloud but
i never had the time to do so.

I just hate Vincents Limits, that's why I choose Tifa over him, Tifa's are awesome, you get to do them all at once!

I played through the game a couple times and have used different combinations here and there...

My favorite combination was Cloud, Cid, and Red XIII. Red's limits as well as Cid's were pretty awesome... the second most preferred would probably be the original Cloud, Tifa, and Barret combo, since it's a pretty conferrable team to work with. I also played through once with Cloud, Vincent, and Tifa. That was mainly for the sake of playing through the small part of the story between him and Hojo. Nothing really stood out from that team, aside that Vincent's limit breakers were pretty awesome in their own.

I'm going to need to try Yuffie out, whenever I get the chance, I'm also wondering how Cait Sith would hold out as the main spell caster for a team. I've heard stories about how horrible and worthless the character is but I'm still not entirely convinced about that.

"Space for Rent"

An excellent party, in my opinion, is Cloud/Barret/Tifa, then rotate in Cid and/or Yuffie as needed. I really don't like Red XIII's final limit, nor do I like Vincent's. Cait Sith is vaguely hilarious, and I actually have made him powerful, but he's just sort of a solid mass that you can sorta do stuff with. Oh, and I refuse to use Aeris---the silly girl dies anyway, and I really don't think anyone needs to play white mage as long as they have mastered enemy skill materia (white wind, angel whisper, big guard) and decent accessories. Plus...I like Tifa a lot.

Replacing one letter in a word that you're not allowed to use doesn't make it okay. Expand your vocabularly. I'm sure there are other, less-offensive words you can use to describe Aeris while still conveying your general disdain.

cait sith - just for some limits and its fun to stare and laugh at him..

cid - just too good
vincent - he reminds me of a young thora hird...
nanaki/ red xiii - in the booklet ; occupation - beast haha id love that job!

Although, I love using the secret characters as well.


I think hypothetically not using Cloud would be refreshing...but I think I depend on him too much already. I definitely take his high physical and magical capability for granted.

Tifa and Nanaki are my favorite characters of the game. I love animals and I think Nanaki's a fabulous character both in stats [if you give him the good stuff (I find it ironic when people don't like characters because they are weak; which is due to them never bothering to use or level the character in the first place)] and because his life story is touching. I like Tifa because she's a strong female character both in stats and spirit (and of course...like every Tifa fan, because you can use all of her limits in one shot).

Vincent would have been a bit higher in my book if there was someway to control him during his limit breaks. I know, 'what's the point of turning him into a monster if you can control everything the monster does?' Then he wouldn't be a monster. Hehe, I'm just a little bit of a control freak. I feel for his past...

At first I didn't like Yuffie at all and had bothered with her only because I wanted to do and obtain everything in the game. I don't like the fact that she's a thief and will probably always be that way

because it's something innate in the Kisagari family...seeing as Godo, her father, tells her to go with Cloud and Co. and bring home all the materia assuming it won't be needed by the group at the end. (This is the dialogue after you defeat Godo in the second half of the Wutai sidequest)

She's also very bratty in the beginning. There's dialogue portraying her that way in both parts of the Wutai sidequest. At least, I think so. But I've come to realize how powerful she can be as I've progressed through the game.

Hidden Gaming Addiction

Cloud - Cos you have to. But even if you didn't, he's too damn solid to ignore!
Red XIII - He rocked when I first got him and never removed him from my party.
Yuffie - Despite what most people think, shes powerful, and Doom of the Living is like a mini Omnislash. Plus shes a ninja!

I only got Yuffie quite late in the game, and before adding her I had Tifa in my team. I kinda regret removing now, what with Tifa having AWESOME Limit Breaks, but I had to get rid of her. She wasn't a ninja!

Cloud - this one is obvious
Vincent - he has the highest defense/magic defense in the game and the most powerful ultimate weapon (if you bother to use vincent) equip him with cut x4 and watch the enemies drop like flies, and chaos is cool good for restoring his hp and slashing all enemies.
Cid - I just love his limit break highwind , freaking awesome plus he has the second best ultimate weapon on the game, the venus-gospel make sure your mp is high and cid has good strength and watch the damage he does with that bad boy.

Cloud - Of Course.
Cid - My favourite character,also i like dragoons and his limits are awesome.
Tifa - Her limits helped me out a few times in tough situations, also she is quite strong physically.

If i didn't have to use Cloud i'd use Vincent because his limits are pretty cool and he's my second favourite character, not to mention the Death Penalty glitch...

I agree that Vincent's Limits are strong, but i like to actually control my characters.
