Quote (SaffireWeapon @ 21st January 2007 18:00) You can actualy steal Ragnarok from one of the statues in the final dungeon. This is acyualy a glitch. Occasionally the SNES version of the game will read the wrong item data for stealing from Goddess and Doom (but not Poltergeist), resulting in the thrid teir of Kefka's items instead. This steal bug however is not a garuntee, and was fixed for the GBA version (and probably the PSX version too). |

Im curious as to how know they fixed it for GBA. Im not trying to discredit your statement, Im just wondering what your source for this info was. I was considering getting the esper this time around so I could have all the espers (that you can have at least) because it seemed evident that you could get a Ragarok if either the final battle or in a bonus dungeon. This isnt something I need answered immediately, but if it was a walkthrough I would love to read it. -------------------- I reject your reality and substitute my own... |

I think you steal Ragnarok from girl in every version unless it has changed. But you can't leave the final battle and bet it at the collesuem. Magic is the crutch of the game there are countless ways of beating this game or any other for that matter.
I think in the past more people were inclined towards the Esper, but in the long run after I've played for ten years I couldn't imagine choosing the Esper ever again. Turning enemies into items aren't significant. There are a lot of better items than the ones you get from Ragnarok the esper in the oringal version. Having that sword for Terra boosting that extra stat makes all the difference for someone like me. If you're really into this game or like weapons more you'll choose the sword. If you don't play that often and/or like magic you'll take the esper. -------------------- https://www.youtube.com/user/Greatermaxim Terra - LV 99 - HP 9999 - MP 999 Equipment - - - Abilities Illumina - - - - - Fight Genji Shield - - Morph Oath Veil - - - - Magic Minerva - - - - - Item Ribbon Economizer |

In the GBA version you'd have to be a fool to take the sword.
You see, in the GBA version: Possible spoilers: highlight to view After you beat the game you can save, when you load that save data you will be on the falcon deck as Setzer. You will have all the Items, Stats, Espers Ect. as when you killed Kefka. But you can still do Kefka's Tower again. So by putting Locke in the party during the Final Battle you can get the Ragnarok and trade it for Lightbringer(AKA Illumina) after the credits roll. Heck, With enough patience you could get 99 Lightbringers and Ragnaroks! -------------------- <Insert witty remark here> |

I grabbed the sword in the GBA version, but thats because I didnt want to rely on that to get a Ragnarok. And honestly, I got the Lightbringer (Illumina), and I think the Ragnarok is better. The stat boost obviously goes to Lightbringer, but damage wise... at lvl 68 Terra consistently does 9999 with Rag, and only about 8000 with Light. Also, Flare seems to occur more often then Holy. Im kinda glad my DS died and I lost the Lightbringer. For now, Ill stick with the Ragnarok.
Did anyone else find this? Is there something else stat related Im overlooking? -------------------- I reject your reality and substitute my own... |
