Any used game store may have one copy. It might be really beat up and "loved" tho.
I would actually check some place like Best Buy. Since FFVII is a PS1 Greatest Hits, and they still sell those PSX thingys, there is potential for Big Yellow Tag to have it. Otherwise, check Wal-Mart. They've got EVERYTHING. Friggin wal-mart... I love/hate wal-mart. the only place open at 1am. -------------------- If internal struggles were as enjoyable and glamorous as the self conflicted wars within video game characters, we would all be statues, reveling in perpetual self war. -Me Play me on Rock Band 2, GH-WT, or any other Xbox GH! Actually a great Online store to get electronics, systems, games, etc. is at Amazon they Sell their games NEW for DIRT CHEAP! I bought the whole PSX
Final Fantasy Series from there! Im telling you its a deal! Either that or Overstock. you can get them even CHEAPER there but in order for that to happen you need the NEW DISCOUNT card: depending on how much you buy, 50-75% OFF on anything. I go discount shopping! |

It's become exceptionally rare to find a copy of FFVII within a store that sells/buys used games.
Your best option is to buy it from Amazon.com and R51 would like it if you did it through CoN. How do i know that? last time I suggested someone use Amazon he suggested doing it through CoNamazon. so i figured why not save everyone some time? there are probably still some copies of FFVII in a warehouse somewhere, waiting to be bought online. -------------------- "Have you ever seen a baby do that before?" |

I bought my FFVII copy at K-B Toys in South Dakota a few years ago. The Gamestop near my house had it for $30 not too long ago.
Count your lucky stars if you see it on the rack at any used video game store now, though. -------------------- "Thought I was dead, eh? Not until I fulfill my dream!" Seifer Almasy "The most important part of the story is the ending." Secret Window "Peace is but a shadow of death." Kuja |

if it's an original copy, then it's worth paying that crazy amount. it has to be new too. greatest hits, well, no more than a 20.
i bought mine two years ago for the fourth time, and i'm never letting go. -------------------- PS3 tag: TipoDLuffy "...quite possibly the greatest game ever made" |

I have a brand-new, unopened, plastic wrapped FF7. Bought it quite some years back with FF8 for about $20 altogether.

I had a hell of a time finding my copy last year. Canadian!Amazon had it for waaaaaaay more than I'd ever be willing to pay, American!Amazon had decent prices but no one willing to ship to anywhere outside of the US, none of my local used game stores had it, none of the other stores where I live had it...
I ended up buying it from some American bloke on eBay for close to $70.00. It was worth it, though. I think it may be the best in the series. (I tend to flop indecisively between VI and VII, but I think I may be finally settling on VII. I bought it for a friend who'd broken his copy. Cost me £20 on Amazon (pre-CoN) but I can't complain, it was his birthday. There's a shop in my high street that has a dedicated FF display case with masses of memorabilia and all the games new. VII, VIII and IX all cost £15 and a small figure of Cloud costs £100; his bike is only £50, comes separately. Try a games shop and see if there's anything along these lines.

I bought mine from a friend unopened for $5! His whole family plays final fantasy too, so he has many many copies of the series.

Ah, well, we norwegians have it a lot easier. I found my copy on a norwegian site, zailor.com. New, and not that ugly "greatest hits"-cover. Platinum though, but I really couldn't care less. Cost 40-50 $.

I didn't look online (too expensive), luckily a friend had a copy of one that he didn't want (OMFG) and I bought it off him for £12, works fine aswell.

I picked up my copy for 3 bucks at a garage sale. It got me hooked on FF, and now I've spent nearly 100 on other games.

None of the major retailers sell it any PSX game as like a "new" item, but I'm sure you can find a copy of it in the used PSX bin/shelf at EBGames or Gamestop. Although you'll probably only be able to find the Greatest Hits version (not that there's anything wrong with that one...or is there?)
I wouldn't pay over 20 bucks for it, though, there are tons of copies of FF7 Greatest Hits lying around, so don't let any retailer or person fool you into thinking it's "rare" or anything like that. It's not even rare in the way that SNES Chrono Trigger is (i.e. it's not actually rare at all, but people pretend it is). |
