I have a setup which owns the final boss. Here it is.

All characters are Mimes.
All characters are dualweilding twinlances.
Faris and Bartz each have !Rapid-fire (aka !X-Fight)
Lenna and Krile each have !Summon and !Dual-cast (aka !X-Magic).
Cast hastega at the beginning of the battlle.
For the first form I have Faris or Bartz attack and everyone else Mimic. That creates 16 attacks from each character every time they attack.
This is why.
2 weapons
x 2 attacks from twinlance
x 4 attacks from !Rapid-fire.
=16 attacks in a row.

During the second form I have Lenna or Faris Dual-cast Bahamut and everyone else Mimic. That's 2 Bahamuts for no mp cost. I could start off the battle doing the bahamut casting and skip the rapid-fire, but I just find the 16 attack to be fun. If a character happens to die you can cast Phoenix and Bahamut and Mimic it. If you really have to heal you can use curaga and then start the process over again, but I never needed that.
What do you think?

It seems you haven't actually used the set-up yet; the Twin Lance doesn't inflict two hits when paired with !Rapid Fire.

With that in mind, Twin Lances are a poor choice end-game. If you plan on using the weapons, more powerful weapons such as the Chicken Knife, Brave Blade, Masamune or the Rune Axe would suit you better. The Man Eater also deals double damage to the first form and gives some nice stat boosts. If you're not actually going to use the weapons, certain nice weapons will help you better. Main Gauche, Defender, Rune Bell or Sage Staff all have powerful supportive abilities to offer.

Hastega is good, though I'm personally tempted to go with Hermes Shoes because with those, Haste is never removed with either Dispel or dying. I'm missing the popular Mighty Guard from the list. You can survive without it, but it helps out a lot. Golem's also nice, but you already have !Summon in there.

I agree with Djibriel on the Twin Lance issue. Any special effects on a weapon is canceled out if you use it with !Capture/!Mug, !X-Attack/!Rapid Fire, and !Dance. What you could do is have !Time equipped and use Quick spell.

That way, and assuming you'd have Dualwield/2 Weapons ability, you'll attack up to four times in one turn with working effects, regardless of which hand you equipped the special weapon, it'll be automatically activated at random from the start of the attack.

I like your intellect on Hastega/Haste2.

I actually have used this setup, it was just a few years ago so I was doing the math of how it should work in my head. Now that I think about it I remember being disappointed with the twin-lances, but I used them anyway 'cause I didn't feel like starting over and setting up again. Either way !Rapid-fire and any two weapons that don't suck horribly is pretty good. The Dual-cast Bahamut thing with Mimic is pretty much so good though that the !Rapid-fire really doesn't matter, it's just for fun. Oh yeah, I'm pretty sure I had Faris and Bartz setup with Time as their other slot that way I could cast Hastega. I don't remember my armor setup. I just started playing again on the GBA. I'm thinking of starting an single-class challenge as a blue-mage once I've finished the game I'm on. Have any of you done a singel-class challenge so far?

Yeah... the most recent is totally me for the blue mage thingy. It's fun and exciting and all, but I do think that this is probably the wrong thread for all that. CS510 knows his stuff tho. And people will help with whatever ?s you have in a SCCC game if you ask in the right place. thumbup.gif

As for final setup: I ususally do Mimes at that point, but my arrogance is totally exposed by the fact that I sometimes forget to equip !Item to anyone, and Zombie sucks then...

As you repeatedly fight Exdeath, keep in mind you can mug/steal Ragnaroks off of him. Aside from that, Excalibur, Apocolypse, Ragnarok, and Ultima Weapon (FFVA) are great additions to your arsenal. I agree with CS510's Hermes Sandals. Granted it would be one spell for Hastega, if someone dies and gets res'd, they start in haste with the sandals. otherwise equip regen rings or something like that.

Flare Spellblade rules. Especially with dual-wielded Excaliburs and such.

But I think I bring the most hurt with dualcast and a Quick pair.

(Meteor/Flare/Holy/Anything Painful + Quick) + (Meteor/Flare/Holy/Anything Painful + Meteor/Flare/Holy/Anything Painful) + mime

next: mime
next: mime
etc...

It's cheap, but effective.

Well anyway, i tried fighting him earlier today with Bartz as a bare duel-weilding Excalibur and Holy lance, with counter, than Krile was a Ninja with twin lance and chicken knife and combine(golden needle +blitz shot=3000 damage to everyone) Faris as a Mimic with some weapon and Summon lance and Black for abilites and than Lenna as a Mimic with a bad weapon and time white and mix(turns out berserking didnt work) than i lost, last part of Neo EXdeath

I'm curious, everyone in your party is set as a freelancer. How many jobs did you have mastered?

Or (what I really mean): How many innert abilities did your characters have being freelancers?

Oh, let me check. I actually haven't mastered that many jobs.

Bartz-Gladiator. I like to change him around, he has 27 abilities in all.
Lenna-White Mage, Time Mage, and Summoner.
Krile-Ninja (it passes on the ability to use two weapons), Blue Mage, and Mime.
Faris-Samurai and Red Mage.

I'm not sure what abilities are passed on from the jobs except for the Ninja.

I think that it's pretty much any ability that doesn't have an ! in front of it.

Which causes uber pwnage when you master jobs.

But, you have to master the job, not just get the ability.

My question is, do some of those abilities transfer to the Mime class? B/c I wanna say that my dual wield and some others have shown up. (I believe that my find passages worked with a mime, but maybe I had a Bare in my party.)

Yes, they do.

Also, the auto-abilities of the Job in question get passed on (Like Learning, Dual-Wield, Dash and so on) are passed on, but other abilities like the Equip-, Lure and so on abilities are not.

Hmmm V... It's been a long time since I played V...

But I do believe I switched Everyone to White Mage and gave them 2x Red at the end of the game...

2x holy per round per char or Holy + Heal the entire party every round on every character if need be... over and over and over... until all the forms fall...

Use a few items for support as it goes... no physical attacks whatsoever...
Amusing really...
