Teehee. For once, I actually have a 'Valentine,' but it's a just friends thing.
I'm excited, though. Never really done much for Valentine's Day except complain about how no one wants to date me, etc. etc. -------------------- You're telling me that there's no hope. I'm telling you you're wrong. |

Voted Single & Dealing with it.
At the moment, I'm actually very bummed about the fact; I've been chasing a certain girl for a long while, and a few days ago we shared our first kiss. However, the subsequent talk the next day revealed that while she has a certain degree of feelings for me, she didn't think a relationship as such would work out between us. There's a lot to say about the situation which I won't do here, but needless to say I'm not too happy with the situation. But hey, I appreciate the degree of honesty and all, the most important thing in these kinda matters. This post has been edited by Djibriel on 8th February 2007 08:25 -------------------- |

Quote (DrkMagimaster282 @ 5th February 2007 17:54) This was my reason to hate valentines day and all that jazz...but also because a few days after, i found out that my two buddies were spreading seriously big-time rumours and passing around ideas that i was gay, and when this gets around a middle school in your eighth grade year and beyond...well i just wanted to kill them dead. I can almost one-up that... On at least two seperate occasions during highschool, my two best friends (knowing that I was looking to date someone) intentionally told girls that were interested in me that they absolutely should not date me (and for no good reason either). I actually heard this from the girls years later, along with the line, "If you would have asked me, I would have dated you." Girls, let's get one thing straight: You have to at least APPEAR interested. Guys don't all have the ESP you think we do. Some might, but I'm too analytical for things like that. I'm a programmer/chef, so if you can't write a procedure for it, I don't know it. Oh yeah, these friends are the ones who have also kissed other guys, one of them was cheated on recently after a 4 year relationship (and still hangs out with her like they were dating!), and the other dated the girl I was trying to date in highschool, while I was trying to date her! Yeah, they both decided to break it off b/c they thought it would be bad if I found out... suprise f-ing suprise. She never dated me b/c she said I was, "too much like a brother." ![]() I hate that whole, you're like a brother bit too. Except for my new roommate, b/c we are like siblings (we're not, but we totally could be), and that is the one time that it really is better that way. I just hope that her and her boyfriend don't make too much of V-day here. Cuz the only thing worse than being left out of V-day yet again, is to have someone else rub it in unintentionally. I truly do execrate Valentine's day. -------------------- If internal struggles were as enjoyable and glamorous as the self conflicted wars within video game characters, we would all be statues, reveling in perpetual self war. -Me Play me on Rock Band 2, GH-WT, or any other Xbox GH! Bacherlor, but I'm not interested in companionship. Situation reminds me of something from Inherit the Wind (for no particular reason):

Well, since you asked and it's for the occasion...
I've been in a serious long-distance relationship for the past six years. She's the love of my life and we have everything in common, but it gets difficult at times (as you can imagine, long-distant). We make it work though, because we just want it enough. This Valentine's Day, might just get her a bouquet of roses or something. She has a very length commute to work in the mornings, so she might appreciate receiving them when she gets there.. ![]() -------------------- You are not your username. You are not your avatar. Had there been an answer of "It's complicated", then I would have chosen that. Instead I chose "Divorced & dealing with it."
I asked my wife to go to marriage counseling with me last April, and she said that she didn't want to. I said that if she wasn't willing to work things out, then we ought to get divorced. She agreed. I moved in with some friends in June. A week later she said she'd changed her mind. I moved back. Three weeks after that she changed it back, so I moved back in with my friends in July and found CoN in my suddenly increased spare time. In September I started dating an old friend from college that I'd gotten back in touch with in early '05. She broke up with me in November, but I called her back last month and we're taking things slower now and seeing what happens. She lives in western MD and I live in southeastern VA, and we're allowed to see other people if we want. Having gone through the whole 'you're like a brother' thing before, I can say that some of them grow out of it. It seems like a closer representation would be 'you're too reliable and not enough of a risk to give me that danger thrill'. The reliability becomes an asset instead of a liability eventually. Of course, this is a guy talking about what girls think, which is probably the most error-prone perspective on any subject in existence, so take it with the appropriate amount of salt. -------------------- "Getting upset over a trifle would indeed be unmannerly." -Afra to Damia |

Aye, I've met the love of my life as well... but I refuse to get into that... unless I'm good and drunk and you're a complete stranger....... maybe... I put "single and dealing with it" as well... honestly... with how much studying and sleeping I've been doing lately... If I was in a relationship right now... I'd either start failing... or I'd stop sleeping... But all in all... not that surprising to me how many of "us" (if you even want to be labeled as part of the same group as me... hahaha) are single ![]() Meh... ![]() -------------------- Quote <FrPhoenix[Around]> "Burgleburgleburgle" |
