I feel like the FFV forum is starting to slip into a temporary dormancy for some reason, so here I go stimulating conversation!
Were hell to freeze over, and all things sacred to become tainted, and they decided to make a live action FFV movie, based on the FFV storyline, or after: who should they cast for roles? Okay... ready... Well an anime was made and it was about somethnig that happens 100 years after the story, or something like that.
It'd be hard to cast Faris, So I'd really have to think that one over. For Galuf, maybe Harrison Ford. ![]() Maybe Jessica Alba for Lenna Cid-Sean Connery. and that's all I can think of for now. -------------------- "Have you ever seen a baby do that before?" |

That has to be the absolute best picture to have for argument. Hands down, Harrison Ford could quite possibly be Galuf.
We should totally check to see if he's a dawn warrior. We could have someone like Oprah, or Barbara Walters ask him. I think if his hair could be done correctly, Christian Bale would probably make a good Bartz. The age might be a little off tho. Jessica Alba could be a good choice for Lenna, but would/should her hair be pink? You're right with Faris tho, that's a tough cast. I'm thinkin' Hillary Swank might be able to pull it off tho. Krile would be the toughest, because do you want to cast on looks, or age appropriateness? She was at least a few years younger than the rest of them, so that would be interesting to cast. I wanna say Scarlett Johansen, but she might be too old. Sean Connery would be an awesome Cid, and I think that Elija Wood could pull off a decent Mid. As for Exdeath, I would want some face-time outside of that helmet, and to go over the top with it... George Carlin. Yeah he's a comedian, but he would be a stellar bad guy, and you could doctor his voice when wearing the helmet, so it wouldn't necessarily have to be him the whole time. The werewolves would have to be CG. No animal costumes need apply. Monsters would be difficult, but probably also CG. ^^This movie's gettin' expensive!! ![]() The hardest part though, would be a final showdown between the heroes and Exdeath that is four against one, and doesn't look lopsided. -------------------- If internal struggles were as enjoyable and glamorous as the self conflicted wars within video game characters, we would all be statues, reveling in perpetual self war. -Me Play me on Rock Band 2, GH-WT, or any other Xbox GH! Harrison Ford for Galif all the way, for Bartz its a tough call, Jessica Alba could be a good Lenna I suppose, for Faris I would think the actress from the Pirates of the Carribean would do well (can't remember her name for the life of me). Sean Connery for Cid I can agree to. For the rest of em, can't think of any for the moment.

Kiera Knightly
And i hate to say it, but she might actually be too girly for the part. you need someone a little more rugged for that. i have to add this also... i totally sent this whole reply from my wii! -------------------- If internal struggles were as enjoyable and glamorous as the self conflicted wars within video game characters, we would all be statues, reveling in perpetual self war. -Me Play me on Rock Band 2, GH-WT, or any other Xbox GH! they don't have to be famous by any stretch of the imagination, you could find a new talent that looked like one of the harder parts. Harrison Ford as Galuf is awesome, Harrison Ford is awesome, Galuf is awesome, and they even look alike. Done Deal. Another good cid could be Ian McKellen, he plays the part well, he could also make a great Exdeath. I don't know about Lenna, you could definately go on the younger side of her age too, and have it work out. Anna Paquin could make a good Lenna if you could figure out her hair. And Dakota Fanning could be a good Cara.

Casting Faris would be hard, not only does she have to be able to look masuline (things could be done with clothes), but she'd have to be better looking than the person playing Lenna. -------------------- "Have you ever seen a baby do that before?" |

I think you'd have to look more toward the modeling industry if you wanted to cast Faris. I've seen a decent number of androgynous looking (I mean it in a complimentary way) models on televised fashion shows and a lot of 'em would have a male-esque height. The director would just have to pray he can find one who can act. XD;

how about the girl who plays Brandy in Joe Dirt - good looking, and somewhat rugged at the same time. The hair might be a problem though.

Agreed with CS510 that Harrison Ford should play Galuf. He just captures the character nicely. Maybe some more hair on the back of his head and it would be perfect.
I do think Keira Knightley would be a fitting Faris. All she really needs is a make over on the face to look more manly. Especially when it comes to eyebrows and nose length. Nice choice for Butz as Christian Bale, but I agree about the age issue. still, a little make over on the face to look much younger could be possible. |

Quote (Cloud_Strife510 @ 23rd January 2007 00:17) The thing about faris was she wasn't androgynous looking, she wore clothes that made her look like a man and made her voice masculine. And along the lines of one of your other threads CS510, she totally had to be good-looking enough to pull off that Mystic Knight outfit. That's why I recommended Hillary Swank earlier. She has a very rigid, yet feminine face I always thought. Tack on frilly pirate clothes to mask the Mystic Knight-kini, and make her talk in a low pitch. Plus, take a look at the movie, "Boys Don't Cry." She has pulled off the look-like-a-guy thing before. It be way easier to do in situational dress. Quote And Dakota Fanning could be a good Cara. Dakota Fanning would be a stellar Cara! The age is almost right too... I think she's 13 tho. The movie won't start production for a few years anyways, so we're good. ![]() Especially with the idea that Harrison Ford... er... i mean... Galuf would totally pass his powers and abilities onto her. Yay for transferrence! For movie sake tho, the abilities transferred would probably be more mage in style. Anybody can cast, but I don't think Dakota Fanning - as awesome as she is - could pull off a Dragoon. But that could just be me. ![]() -------------------- If internal struggles were as enjoyable and glamorous as the self conflicted wars within video game characters, we would all be statues, reveling in perpetual self war. -Me Play me on Rock Band 2, GH-WT, or any other Xbox GH! I think James Earl Jones would be a good voice for galif. Hmm lets see Bartz i am not really sure who'd do well with him, prehapse the guy who played marvin in Hitch Hikers Guide to the galaxy dang it i wish i knew his name off hand i really like the guy. Lets see krell would be good if they could get maybe one of the olsen twins or some one, they'd have to be young. Salsa would probably have to be some on like umm Uma Thermen maybe? I don't really know many more that would be good for any roles.

So it's seems that Harrison Ford and sean Connery are to be reunited form the Indiana Jones Trilogy.
and have made the permanent cast list, I also like having Dakota fanning as Cara/Krile, so i support it. Kiera knightly, Hilary Swank(I like your reasoning Leilong, but for some reason i still have uncertainty, I don't know why), Knightly Lenna, Faris Swank, Hmmm..... Mid, doesn't matter, find some 14 year old who can act. King Tycoon, Sam Elliot Zerxat, Tom Selleck ![]() Kelgar, Burt Reynolds (the voice just seems to fit) Dorgan, Viggo Mortensen(as the Younger Dorgan during the flashbacks) i can't remeber how old Boots is when Dorgan dies, so if need be use makeup to make Viggo look older. X-Death, James Earl Jone (why the hell not) Gogo, Will Ferrell Quote Nice choice for Butz as Christian Bale, but I agree about the age issue I honestly wanted to put him down the first time, but again, the age issue. Edit Funny, excluding James Earl Jones. Tom Selleck, Harrison Ford, Sam Elliot, Burt Reynolds, and Sean Connery were all considered hunks back in the day. and Viggo Mortinson is considered one in this day and age. If this movie was made, it'd win an award for best-looking cast ever This post has been edited by Cloud_Strife510 on 25th January 2007 04:50 -------------------- "Have you ever seen a baby do that before?" |

Alan Rickman (Snape from HP, Sherrif of Nottingham from Robin Hood) would also make a good exdeath. Also, John Travolta could make a good anything, he's John Travolta - and by right deserves to be in every movie I watch. Samuel L. Jackson could fit in somewhere too, possibly as an exotic spinoff of Gilgamesh.

Quote lan Rickman (Snape from HP, Sherrif of Nottingham from Robin Hood) I actually like that idea better, than James Earl jones, you wouldn't neccessarily want everybody to immediately think Vader, or The Lion King, Alan Rickman would be more Unique. -------------------- "Have you ever seen a baby do that before?" |

I would basically go with anything listed here except for Will Farrell. The movie would instantly become terrible because he has absolutely killed every movie or skit he has ever been in except for Elf. Even Wedding Crashers was borderline not funny just because of his appearance in the end. He's just not a funny person and he can't play serious roles.
But yea, aside from that, I have no further suggestions or comments. ![]() -------------------- Is PJ |

I would personally put Christian Slater instead of Bale for Butz. I just don't see the guy from "American Psycho" as a main protagonist of a Final Fantasy movie.
Harrison Ford is great. I'm not sure about Jessica Alba as Lenna. Everyone would see her instead of her character. And that's a no-no. But I guess I can be wrong. Also, I have no idea who could play Faris. I guess that should be someone not famous, because if the audience sees Hilary Swank, they wouldn't even think she's a guy. And we have to persuade them with cast as well as with the script. Oh, and Dakota Fanning would make a perfect Cara. I'd love to see her wielding an axe twice as big as she is in wolf fur as a berserker :] I think Nicolas Cage would make a great Exdeath. Or John Travolta. Sean Connery I guess would be a better Ramuh than Cid. Michael Caine would make a better Cid. -------------------- You may say I'm a dreamer But I'm not the only one... |
